The Micah Draft

Kind of like when they drafted Schoonmaker? They hyper fixate on a position and if they don’t get it they panic and force the pick.

Terrible asset management.
30+ years of our part-time GM playing Whac-A-Mole during the draft.
Zero consideration toward the future.
What are the team's biggest gaping holes currently because of previous poor drafting and no thought toward the future needs, leading to reaching........De Ja Vue over and over and over again.............

I have said it before... if you look at historical drafts from every team, the average return is probably 2 starters and a spare part (longtime backup, a guy with 1 good season, something like that).

Micah and Osa, are of course your two starters, and calling Micah a starter is underselling it. Golston had a textbook "spare part" tenure in Dallas, and got a nice second contract. Nashon Wright just won a starting job this year, so I don't know if you call him a "spare part with one good year", or if he's a really late blooming starter. Time will tell, but he's at least out of the bust zone.

All in all, we walked away with 1 HOF caliber player, 1 other starter, and 2 spare parts. That's a great haul.

Four years after a draft is a good time to judge how well a team drafted. In 2021, with extra picks, the team did very poorly other than Micah and Osa.

Another 2nd round bust, Kelvin Joseph. Does Dallas lead the world in 2nd round busts? Trystin Hill, Kelvin Joseph, Gavin Escobar, Schoonmaker. I do not see Sam Williams taking a leap as he should have.

I recall in past years Larry Allen, Flozell Adams, Solomon Page, Darren Woodson, as great 2nd round picks. Now, Diggs, another 2nd rounder, is on his way out, following in the footsteps of 1990's CB Kevin Smith who could not get back his great talent after a serious injury. Selecting an OL in the 2nd round is safe based upon historical analysis.

Was not our secondary better last year with Jordan Lewis? Great move Jerry. Even Israel Muakuamu was better than some of these 2025 stiffs in the DB department.

Jerry overpaid for DLAW when it was obvious his skills were declining and thus had no money for free agents. He should have signed a rising DE from another team instead of resigning DLAW who needed serious shoulder surgery, and lost his elite sack-making ability.

Ask Seattle what they think of DLaw’s declining skills. They are thrilled to have him and Legion of Boom is making a comeback. Their HC was a great DC and values stopping the run even more than sacks.

We got two picks in the 28-32 range and an over the hill DT for one of the best young edge players in football

Damn this team sucks

Sorry - I’m just so tired of it and I love this team.

2nd round shoulda been chiefs center. Nashon Wright ballin in chicago right now. Micah, lol, just really what a joke jerry and this franchise is and I'd of rather kept Chancey for 5 mill than Osa for the insane 20 mill he gets. just an absolute joke all around.
