The troublesome thing about this season so far is HOW we lose. It's early, but it was early last year too when we lost that Monday Night game to the Skins. And the Seattle game. These are the games really good teams seal the deal and don't end up fighting for their playoff lives in December.
Another couple/three games with the mistakes of last night and we're staring down the barrel of 9-6 and playing the Lions on New Years Eve needing a win or some help to make it. This team the last 5 years has me a nervous wreck.
I think alot of the "knee-jerk" negativism and "jumping off the ranch" talk is that we're so spoiled. I'm looking forward to the days when a "sure-lock" playoff team is back and not biting our nails every December to see what happens. It's the curse of being a Cowboy fan.......we expect more than Eagle fans or Ram fans.
And the two losses this year...........is it the end of the world? No. Is "the season over"? Of course not. But the pattern is developing again slowly and it's worrysome. You're never quite sure what you're gonna' get.
I'm going to accept both these loses for now. The home opener to what is probably going to be a playoff Jacksonville team, and a loss @ the Eagles with all that emotion, the T.O. thing, etc...........they had this game circled since the schedule came out. Fine.
But if they lay an egg against the Giants at home, or @ Washington, the worry-warts will be out in force............and rightfully so.

It's a 16 game season... some games we'll win and play excellent football for 4 quarters, some games we'll lose and play poorly for much of the game. It's not how you start the season, it's how you finish.

We were 4-2 last year and we see how that worked out for us. Nothing is guaranteed simply because we might have a winning record after 6 games. Particularly if we are still making the same kind of stupid mistakes.Nav22;1082481 said:WHEN we win our next 2 games (vs. Houston, vs. NY Giants), putting us at 4-2 after 6 games with a 2-1 division record... what will the mood be like here?
As long as Bledsoe is the QB we will never go anywhere. He is what he is and won't get any better. At least with Romo we have a QB that can avoid the pass rush a little better and give him a chance to throw the ball. Will the season still be in the crapper? Will we still need to bench Bledsoe?
No?
I don't know that everyone is jumping off the cliff here but many are tired of the same stupid things happening every game. We have a good game against the sorry Titans and suddenly people think everything is fine. Bledsoe should have never started the season or at worst he should have been pulled in the 2nd half of the Jags game. He doesn't have it and isn't suddenly going to "get it" anytime soon. It is time to move on. It is also time to move on from the Parcells era as it hasn't worked the way we expected it to.Then SHUT UP. Why is it that EVERY time we lose, this entire board has to collectively jump off a cliff? I'm certainly not ready to throw in the towel, not at all! I want us to make the changes that will give us a chance to win some of these games instead of throwing them away like we have. This team has way too much talent to be wasting this opportunity the way we are. I'm crying because we shouldn't be losing these games.WE'RE STILL IN EARLY OCTOBER! Get a freakin' grip, people. I'm just as pissed as anyone else about the loss, but damn... I've never encountered such a bunch of knee-jerk crybabies in my life. 2-2 after 4 games (3 of which were on the road), 1-1 in the division, and you're ready to throw in the towel???
You mean instead of a new one every year or so? Actually, if I HAD been the GM we would have traded up for Carson Palmer a few years ago and we wouldn't be worrying about our QB. Now that would mean that we wouldn't have Terrence Newman or Jason Witten but you can find starting quality CBs and TEs a lot easier than franchise QBs.I'm glad none of you work in the front office... we'd go through 10 QBs/year.
Sorry to be so hard on ya... we'll all feel better after we slap around the Texans next week and get back over .500 (especially if Philly loses at N.O.). Winning cures all. :starspin
lewpac;1082635 said:Alot of my initial "anger" if you will is, this is the year I've been "all in" since the spring. I'm always a diehard, but I resist the smack talk and talking big when I'm not sure how we are, or I know we're not that good.
But this year, for the first time in long time, I bought into the hype, the predictions. The defense was great last year, and I felt the the additions, the draft, and the younger guys having more experience would put it all together this year. Julius Jones having the breakout year, etc....
And I'm not the only one. I've been hearing and feeling the buzz since the spring............and NOBODY at Valley Ranch told us to "calm down", "let's see", "hold your horse's", etc.............. I haven't seen this much buzz about a Cowboy team since the last glory run of the '90's.
In that respect, I think alot of Cowboy fans are a little disappointed thus far. I know I am. If this was 5 or 6 years ago, no big deal. I'd even be a little exited at this point. But like I said, I can live with these two losses for now.
It's at home.skinsngibbs4life;1082799 said:the meadowlands is a VERY tough place to play, i wouldnt ink a "W" just yet..
