After watching Monday Night Keystone Cops last night, it became apparent that 8-8 might win this division, and 9-7 is virtually a done deal.

Good gosh, this division is bad outside of a slowly healing Dallas team still ladled in critical injuries. That, and another episode of kill Russell Wilson suddenly makes the next three games look far more winnable than before.

But lest we forget, this season isn't about being the sexiest nerd in the NFC East. It's supposed to be about going to the Super Bowl.

That hones all criteria to the necessities necessary to beat Green Bay, Arizona, and Carolina when it matters. Those are the non-pretenders, though I think reality will catch up with Arizona and Carolina's non-elite quarterbacks soon.

So, if Green Bay in January is the acid test, what is needed? A receiver? A better running back? A deep safety? Or is the return of Romo and Dez going to be enough to get this Maserati to San Jose as is?

pass rush. If our DL dominates their OL. We can beat them. The middle of their defense is terrible. Clay Matthews cannot cover Te's and Wr's.

Dez and Romo turning is all we need to beat green Bay. Rivers had almost 500 yards passing in green bay. I know it will be colder when we play them but in the playoffs we did decent against them. Now we have an upgraded defense.

I'm not being blind or whatever some of you doom and gloom guys call us but healthy Dallas is the best team in the league. Not 3 for sure

I know its probably the Homer in me. But with this pass rush I think with the return of Dez and Romo we are better than Green Bay. I just hope when we play green Bay that we still have a shot at making the playoffs as it will be a GREAT test to see how good we really are. But I dont think any teams are even close to the Patriots right now. They seem to be better than everybody else right now.

I admit that I find Matt Forte's experience against Green Bay intriguing. I wonder what it would take.

I live in Panther country, but let's be real who they have played. They haven't faced one dynamic offense yet. They have beat the Bucs, Saints without Brees, Jacksonville, Seattle, and Texans. Not really strong competition there. Green Bay and Arizona are good teams for sure. I think with Romo and Dez we compete with the best in the NFC. But in the end it will be difficult to beat GB.

Lets not pretend that win at Seattle isn't still impressive, even though the Seahawks are off to a bad start and have issues.

That was a really physical football game.

Otherwise, I agree.

Biggest difference is, if both teams are at full strength, is coaching staff.

I'd expect a playoff game at Lambeau would be another close battle / instant classic.

The Cowboys (with Romo and Dez) back are a better team than in 2014. The defense in particular is vastly improved. I expect the Cowboys pass rush to be in the Top 5 over the remainder of the season. I also expect Christine Michaels to improve the consistently of the Cowboys running game and balance the offense out more evenly. That will be huge.

Having said that the Packers look improved as well... The Packers are 2nd in the league in sacks (23) and their running game with Starks/Lacey is ranked 3rd in the league. Their defense is #3 in the NFL in points allowed per game. You combine Aaron Rodgers with a Top 5 running game, Top 5 scoring defense, and a Top 5 Pass Rush and it's not an easy out -- especially at Lambeau.

I think it all depends on what kind of a QB Matt Cassel turns out to be. If he's garbage it doesn't matter what anyone else does.

For several reasons, injuries included, this team hasn't played well all season. Several things have to take place for the team to play anywhere close to last year's level.

I'm assuming he is good enough to win half of the games he starts. Cross fingers.

To make pass rush truly fearsome, a deep safety that can make plays on the ball and is smart tackler who can keep runners from running by them is key. Still say that San Diego's Eric Weddle is obtainable and could be the final championship piece on this D.

That's if Romo and Dez can rejuvenate this offense, dominant rushing attack or not.
