Sign DE Igor Olshansky, draft S Louis Delmas in the 2nd round, LB Darry Beckwith in the 3rd round to have Burnett's role and groom for the future, draft for OL and DL depth, QB, and maybe an OLB if we trade/cut Ellis. :starspin

UPDATE: sign CB Shawn Springs

Delmas will be long gone by 51. We would have to trade up close to 20-25 spots to nab Delmas, if not more than that.

I'm down with that. Besides, that scenario is VERY possible considering Jerry loves to wheel and deal; and 11 draft picks would not make this roster anyway...

I can actually see all 4 of those happening. Coin toss between Chung and Delmas.

I take it you are hearing that Chung and Delmas are our two favorite safeties?

I'd love to see Igor sign here, would be huge. I'd take Rashad Johnson in the 2nd if he's there. S is more about IQ than it is athleticism and I expect RJ to be an Ed Reed type.

No, not yet. I just think they are the 2 who might be there at 51.

I have heard we like Beckwith a lot.

everything that I have been reading has indicated that delmas will be the first S drafted, late first-early 2nd.

I think Sean Smith will be, but he might be taken as a CB. The hot names are Smith, Delmas, Johnson, Chung and Moore.

William Moore's stock sure has plummeted. I believe prior to this past season he was considered a top 15 pick.

I don't agree that a S needs to be smarter than athletic. Why not have both?

I believe the LOS is the most important thing other than QB. I'm not certain a big NT is more important now as we do have Ratliff but we have got to have someone who can plug the middle. He doesn't have to be disruptive. And we need a big, fast, cover WILB (even though they don't grow on trees). Then we need a safety. I'd love to draft another Ed Reed but I'd settle for steady if not spectacular at this time. Obviously someone has to play DE but unless one magically falls then they are going with Hatcher and Bowen for now. They will be looking at a vet if one gets cut during camp depending on how the draft and Bowen/Hatcher does.
