One simply cannot deny that we got great value out of this fourth round pick.

But the goal is not to maximize the value of your picks and your regular season stats but to win a Superbowl. And so far it seems that a fourth rounder just doesn't cut it.

This is true somewhat.........that 'fourth rounder' has helped us avoid risking high picks on the QB position. We have had a solid, legit top-10 QB starter over the past 9 years. Most, if not all, of the NFL will take that every day.


In other words, finding legit NFL franchise QBs isn't easy

Nice catch. You beat me to it. I decided to compare the Instagram promo against The White House With Michael Irvin Netflix podcast it was taken from. YouTube slapped a content claim on my uploaded clip (97 seconds) from the segment. Hopefully, it will not get taken down:



Jerry Jones' usually flawed storytelling aside, it looks like the Netflix production crew could not be bothered to secure actual content from the NFL of the preseason game. They simply substituted what they wanted to flesh out the promo instead. Lazy.

That said, I was shaking my head more at Irvin nodding and agreeing with what came out of Jones' mouth. Either he was not trying to sabotage his own filming of the conversation by correcting Jones, which would have been smart on his part, or he misremembered the events from that time as well.

In my opinion, Sam Block's examples of Matt Ryan (retired 2 1/2 years ago), Drew Brees (5 1/2 years), Ben Roethlisberger (4 3/4 years), Peyton Manning (10 1/2 years), and Eli Manning (6 3/4 years) are far less applicable of Dallas' transitioning at the position. His lone example of Joe Namath (nearly 50 years) is more applicable to Troy Aikman (25 1/2 years)--albeit Tony Romo and Dak Prescott have both made the post-retirement period far less tenuous.

At press conferences they would finish each other's sentences and give subtle looks to each as if they were the only ones in on the joke.
