The more information I find on Surtain the more I like him

He’s got fluid hips, solid quickness and handwork that allows him to bully smaller receivers at the line of scrimmage and remain sticky out of their routes. Most importantly, Surtain’s instincts and football intelligence are off the charts. He knows how to be physical with receivers without drawing unnecessary flags. According to Pro Football Focus, Surtain played the most defensive snaps without a penalty committed this season (916) while allowing 6 penalties the season prior.

This is a guy who rarely gets thrown at. Surtain was targeted only one time per every 10 coverage snaps and allowed a reception every 25 coverage snaps (#1 in the country).

Best Fits
Patrick Surtain II is by far the best press-man cornerback in the draft. He’s got skills that will allow him to thrive on the outside and in a Cover-3 scheme in the NFL. From watching tape, it appears that Surtain compares best to Jalen Ramsey and Marlon Humphrey at the next level. Lets take a look at the top 3 fits for Patrick Surtain in the NFL.

"compares best to Jalen Ramsey and Marlon Humphrey"
Im not banking on that but he sounds like a sure thing or the surest
isnt that what teams are hoping for

I don’t think his ceiling is as high as Ramsey’s. But his floor is about as high as you want. Kids going to give a team 10+ years or solid football

besides the talent I see in Surtain I would be lying if I was not intrigued by having Diggs and Surtain playing together in the secondary, They have a close relationship from their days at Bama and I think Diggs being here will only make the transition to the NFL easier for Surtain having someone he is close to and trust as he takes the next step in his career.

The more Tide the better in my opinion. Love Dylan Moses as a fit for this team too.

I’m coming around on the idea of Corner at 10. Only because Surtain has so much experience. I would prefer Collins or Pitts but that probably won’t happen. The deal with DB’s though is you can find them all over the draft so it’s tempting to skip one in the first.

An added bonus is that his dad is a former pro bowl corner. He would likely be helping Patrick, Diggs, Brown and Lewis at practices

Well between Diggs covering his brother in the offseason it would be a fierce tandem.
