The most embarrassing moment of the game

i thought it was on the 4th and 1 and romo told wade to get back in his hole.

wade standing there with his arms in the air like a total moron....clueless.


that was embarrasing.

I'm with you, lane. Romo was trying to take the team on his shoulders, but his mistakes and everybody else's weren't going to allow that happen. I'm glad he was willing to try, but to dismiss the coach like that... And the ST players listened to Romo over Wade. That says a lot.

The whole thing was awful. This was as bad if not worse than A&M's 77-0 loss to OU or Texas' 66-3 loss to UCLA, and MUCH worse than our loss to Chcago in '85.

What you talkin about? I LOVED Route 66! As for this loss I hope Philly is dumb enough to run McNabb and Reid out of town. They may not to much of anything else but they know how to beat Dallas.

I think although on the first glance, the utter desperation of the Cowboys in this game was very embarrassing (sandlot plays, and the pitches on kick returns in the third quarter)

The Romo/Phillips situation needs to be addressed because it really was a bad point in the game. However this whole Romo "coaching" the Cowboys while Wade Phillips looks exasperated gimmick has been going on all season.

A lot of challenges Wade Phillips deferred to Romo's call rather than making his on read on the play at hand.

And then you have to keep in mind, that Phillips whole schtick is on the defensive side of the ball. So yeah, it almost seemed as if Romo was making Phillips second guess himself.

In tonight's game, yes there is nothing more embarrassing than seeing a starting head coach being told what to do by a player on the field. You just don't show up the coach in any sport.


Let's look at how this all played out:

1. Phillips elects to punt the ball, whether this is a good decision or not is up in the air, but it's his choice.

2. Romo stays on the field, tells the coach that they are getting the first down.

3. Although it works, Phillips looks bad, and now all the confidence and trust is in Tony Romo.

4. A few plays later, Romo fumbles.

5. Any momentum, trust, and confidence is now lost for Romo as well as Phillps.


Dallas needs a coach that first knows the situation well enough to know what to do in certain situations, and also has enough on the ball to make smart decisions to keep the team's trust in him. To me Wade Phillips lost this team, and well watching this all play out was probably the most embarrassing thing of the night.

Good too see that it still stings. UCLA is coming back great recruiting class and we finally have a real coach. Plus we routinely punk you guys in Basketball as well.
