Are Sean Lee and Byron Jones. Cowboys really have a pretty steep drop off from those two guys to their backups. I thought both played great last night, they really limited YAC when they were around the football, which was often. I'm not as down on the defense as most are, but I do admit losing either of those 2 guys for an extended period of time would worry me a lot.

Without Scandrick, you can see the falloff when Claiborne has to show up. With Scandrick, he seems better.

I think Tyrone Crawford is pretty high up there as well. Without him in there, we didn't get any interior pressure.

I dont see how we can name anyone other than Sean Lee. He's the only proven playmaker on that side of the ball. The upside is there for Byron, but he hasnt proved it yet. Scandrick, I dont think a slot corner can be considered indespensable.

I absolutely agree. I know the pass rush is a big deal but the linebackers after Lee are very mediocre. That's probably being nice

I wanted to put Crawford with those two, as he might be the best pass rusher Dallas has. I haven't seen him be dominant like Lee yet though, and the Cowboys have way better depth at DT than safety. I don't think opposing teams would attack Crawford's backup as much as they would attack Lee's or Jones' backup.

The only game he played in was against Miami, and he was disruptive. He makes the whole line better with his interior push.

1-11) Lee: Only All Pro talent on our defense. Leader on and off the field. Without him, our LBers are some of the worst in the league (assuming McClain and Smith are out).

12) T. Crawford: Our next most proven player outside of Lee. Isn't an All Pro talent and maybe not even a Pro Bowl talent, but is a good player, is maybe our only legit interior pass rush threat, and plays possibly the most important position in Marinelli's defense.

13) Lawrence: Only has one strong season under his belt, but is the only DE on the team who's done anything. Has a bright and hopefully long future ahead of him. Plays one of the most important positions in modern day NFL defenses. No proven DEs behind him on the team.

14) B. Jones: A lot of potential but hasn't done much yet in the NFL. Only decent safety on the team. Has all the attributes of a star safety. It'll be a major setback to this defense if he doesn't pan out.

15) Scandrick: Only proven veteran talent in the secondary. A reliable starting corner who has the versatility to play slot. One of the few veterans with talent on the team. Has a nastiness to his game that inspires teammates.
