The Most Unluckiest Team in the NFL

I didn't miss his point. The idea that we are the "most unluckiest" team in the NFL is a delusional exercise in excuse making for years of ineptitude.

Now, I can agree on not being "the unluckiest". Luck, good or bad, impacts all teams.

JJones is not a talent evaluater . the doldrum years of the franchise were all on him but since Parcells
he has tried to correct his short comings and we are now on a upper trend.
I can already hear the boo's and hisses but i believe that.
He has in placed some I have respect for and some are a miss.
its coming

First off I want to say, this is not a Garret apologist, I think it’s time for a new coach but you will see some facts in this post.

This franchise is the most unluckiest franchise in the NFL(besides maybe the Lions). Jerry must’ve sold his soul.

Yes we are even more unlucky than the Browns.

The Browns have had one winning season in the last 15 years and it was the year we had their first round pick. That’s sad.

At the end of the day, you always want a genius at coach and a master technician at QB but does that always matter?

Really?

I firmly believe a lot of luck comes into play.

Mike Zimmer was staring a 0-2 playoff record in the face after watching his team collapse in the second half at home. He didn’t coach the Saints defender to whiff on a tackle. Instead, Zimmer is now a genius and Case Keenum is a hero by pure luck. Sometimes the better QB and coach are helpless while the ball just bounces the other way.

You can find lots of instances in the NFL where luck and a hot streak wins out over talent or strategy. Look at the Ravens a few years back, the Harbaugh/Flacco connection got on a hot streak at the right time and had a little luck go their way. I don’t think Harbaugh is an amazing coach and Flacco is trash. If they were any good, they would be a little bit more competitive regularly in a weak AFC. They got lucky.

Even the great Brady/Belichick connection can credit at least a couple of their rings to a little luck..not a dominating strategy or overwhelming talent.

Despite his failures as a head coach, Garrett very easily could have had at least two NFCCG appearances if a little luck went our way. I’m not saying I want him as our long term answer at head coach, I’m just stating facts. If Dez “caught it” or if Cook didn’t get the last foot in bounds, our entire analysis of him would be different. If we had a little more luck with Romo, he’s a hall of famer.

I want one of these crazy wins that we can overexaggerate and remember..instead we just get a lot to bad luck and disappointment.

The most unluckiest franchise in the league, besides maybe the Lions.

Luck is where the crossroads of opportunity and preparation meet.

JG was lucky Dak was able to ball out in the second half against GB last year. The team came out flat and looked unprepared and was sleep walking in the first half. There was no excuse for the team to look that bad to start the game after having a bye and at home.

Two wins?

I think he was referring to Romo, he beat the Eagles in 09 and Detroit in 14.......both games in the Wildcard round

Garrett was only head coach for the Detroit win in 14, which was highly controversial as the refs picked up an obvious PI flag that would have put the Lions in field goal range. I remember the entire media coverage the week after that win was if Blandino being on Jerry's party bus affected the decision of the refs to pick up the flag.

All the heat the league office got for the refs botching the call probably lead to the decision to rule the Dez catch incomplete the next week. The league didn't want more accusations that it was favoring Dallas after Blandino was seen on Jerry's party bus.

But all of this is probably just bad luck:rolleyes:

Sitting home for the playoffs is really starting to warp the minds of some. After a couple of days of watching divisional round playoff games we’ve now become the unluckiest team in the NFL.

Yep, Garrett missing the playoffs 72% of the time is just all bad luck, gosh darn it:angry:

Coaching, schemes, preparation, adjustments, blah, blah, blah..............doesn't matter, all comes down to pure luck who wins these playoff games:facepalm:

Luck? Stop with the “poor me” attitude. Luck or no luck doesn’t happen for 20+ years. Keep playing the victim of “lady luck” though, that’s what Jerry wants you to believe and you keep buying it. Shame on you.

You guys are so in the tank for Garrett you can’t even admit the obvious anymore.

I have to admit, the Garrett supporters are getting more and more creative. The excuses went from "we got no Zeke", "Jerry interferes", "too many injuries", "refs are biased", "defense is no good", ect....

Now the excuse is.............wait for it.............wait for it...........BAD LUCK!!!!!:lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2:

Yea, its not Brice Butler saying the offensive coaches don't do jack and its not Dez Bryant saying the defense is calling out the routes the WR run before the snap, no, no, no, its not anything like that.

Its just pure bad luck.........................I seriously don't know how somebody could even make that claim with a straight face after 8 yrs:facepalm:

It’s not Luck.

The premise of this thread is hogwash.

Yes some individual games can be decided by luck.

But, Garrett’s complete failure for 7 seasons isn’t bad luck.

If Luck was that big of a factor, then the law of averages means luck would have favored the cowboys at some point.

It’s crappy coaching.

The coach sucks.

He is basically just one giant walking cliche who does nothing but clap and say “fight” and “scratch and claw”. “Day by Day”. “Be all you can be”.

Blah blah freakin blah.

He is a glorified cheerleader.

He is welcome to wave some Pom poms further down the sideline if he wants, just take his damn headset away already and get somebody competent in there already.

This stuff makes me angrier and angrier the more I think about it.

If Philly wins next week it’s going to be like an AA meeting gone horribly wrong on this board. The Cowboys haven’t played a game in a couple of weeks but the state of depression here feels like it’s at an all time low with so many living in the moment. You could almost picture a few today throwing back a bottle watching Philly advance to the Conference title game with a backup QB and seeing Barry Church and Mike Zimmer having more success than they ever had in Dallas. You can just feel the misery here. A thread just got started bashing Garrett that got moved to the Cry Zone. lol I’m not going to let any of this get me down, I’m already over this season. I actually find all this pretty amusing.

Funny how I didn't hear any of these guys claiming it was just bad luck when Wade got fired.

Oh, that's right.......the team quit on Wade because they lost one game by 20+ points at Lambeau Field.

Number of losses by 20 or more points for Garrett JUST THIS YEAR...............4

You know monkey, by the time it actually gets here your little monkey arm is going to be so full of arthritis from old age you cant wave it anymore.

But, Garrett’s complete failure for 7 seasons isn’t bad luck.

The OP is right, its luck and execution and coaching. All three have a role.

And "Garrett's complete failure" is a team that is in the top third in wins in the NFL during that time. And that includes 2015 when Romo was hurt. To the OP's point, a little more luck in 2015 and that record would be even better.

Lol “the top third” in wins.

Who gives a hoot about that? I mean honestly. “Top third” in wins with ZERO post season success.

Ok so you got me. Garrett isn’t a total failure. He is just the poster boy for mediocrity.

Awesome. Sign me up for another 7 seasons of “top
Third in the nfl for regular season wins”.

The natives are restless............

They have been told by the tribe elders that it would take many, many, moons to finish building the new huts. However, the natives just saw the tribe across the river build brand new huts in 1/4 the time the elders said it would take.

Natives want elders to answer why tribe across the river built their huts so much faster................elders respond, "its just bad luck"

Can we stop blaming 8 years of JG being HC for 20+ years of bad luck? Last time I checked, we haven’t won a SB in over two decades and we’ve had several coaches, yet the one thing that has been constant throughout has been Jerry “the clown” Jones. Who’s responsible for hiring and keeping JG? Who’s mainly responsible for hiring every person on this team? Who’s responsible for driving away and/or not hiring qualified coaches? Who refuses to hire a qualified GM?

If most of you want to blame JG for our failures then perhaps your hatred and discontent should be directed at the source, Jerry Jones. Why is it for every 5 “JG sucks” or “coaching is horrible” threads there is only ONE “Jerry Jones sucks” thread? I know some of you get it, but I’m specifically directing my question to the people who consistently bash JG but make no mention of Jerry Jones. Why?
