I have heard the Jags are in desperate need to make some major moves to try and sure up their O-line as well as upgrading their receiving corps. We obviously could use a vet QB to back up Dak.

If you were the GM of Dallas, would you consider a trade for Gardner Minshew?
What do you think it would take to get him? I don't think draft picks are in the discussion as the reports say they need help in the form of quality players now.
Would you give up a 2 or 3 player combination centered around o-linemen and receivers?
If so which legitimate players are you willing to part with?

I came up with this list to choose any 2 or 3 of the following from, you may have other players in mind, but I tired to keep it realistic in ability to play at least decently.

Conner McGovern, Ty Neshki, Terrence Steele, Brandon Knight, Isaac Alarcon, Matt Farniok, Noah Brown, Cedrick Wilson, Malik Turner, Semi Fehoko and TE Mckeon

I would gladly give up Knight and Turner for him.
I multi-player deal like Knight, Farniok and Turner would work too.
I'd hate to lose McGovern, but I might consider it, but only as a 1 for 1 deal, or if they give us something back like a 5th rd pick.
I would I think my best offer would be either Neshki and Wilson or Steele and Brown (let them choose which combo they like better) for Minshew.

IDK, what ya'll think?

Jags aren't going to trade qb that's been a starter for some Dallas scrubs or rookies...

I mentioned the same thing in summer when there were rumors of him being available by Jags....lets dangle a 6th or conditional 5th (based on playing time in case of another injury). he is heck of a lot better than what we have and at least he has started in this league and has had some success...he does make some bone headed plays from time to time, but he would be great back up...Also somebody mentioned Foles and he maybe a good option as well.

Who do the Jags have backing up Lawrence if they trade Minshew? Why would the Jags trade Minshew unless they get a really good deal?

Falcons just lost their backup McKarron and only have Frank’s and Matty Ice on the roster. Lots of teams desperate for a backup. Market price will not be some scrubs. Meyer wants draft picks. Probably a 2nd rounder.

You may be right. But I hear they are clearly getting desperate to protect TL and give him some real targets. Noah Brown is better than their current #3 and 4 WR, heck I don't even know who their #2 is! Neshki and Steele aren't terrible OTs and would give them some much needed depth at the very least, if not a starter.

They signed Rosen

CJ Beathard would currently be the backup. They signed him to a two year, $5 million dollar deal.

I live close to Jacksonville and attend some of their practices and camps. They all believe Beathard should be the backup.

GM15 seems to have regressed.

No, they're hardly Pro Bowlers but if they were that bad they'd not be on the team. Not sure they're any better than what the Jags have now, though, and imho they'd have to be more than just a little better for the Jags to give up a good backup qb for them....

An excellent choice for a backup QB. So why would the Jags give him up? Do you think the Jags front office is dumb enough to trade him for Knight and Turner? If I'm the Jags you're paying through the nose for Minshew or we'll keep him as backup. Actually, right now Lawrence don't look any better than him. Right now Lawrence is just hype and hope.

I mentioned Minshew to my son Monday night during that preseason outing. He's more capable, without question, than any QB backups we've currently kept in house. He should rightly be a possibility for the C'boys' FO to consider having him play for Dallas.

I seem to recall some speculation that Minshew might be a candidate to be considered by the Cowboys at some point a while back at some point. I'd surely be in favor of making a deal for him if Stephen and Jerry decide to pay him what he's probably worth.

Of course, It's debatable as to what the chances are for that to happen. I could see where another team with more to spend under the cap might outbid us for his services. Let's see what develops with respect to that, if and when Minshew actually becomes available.

I mentioned this weeks ago. One of these guys will not be on the 53 in JAX. Beathard or GM are both better than what we have.

If Minshew can’t beat out Beathard then do I really want him?

Doubt they would take Prescott's contract but I like where your head's at.
