My Griz will figure out a way to screw it up. They always do.:

Well, my Wizards certainly figured it out-- they went and drafted a scrawny 7 footer who makes Shaq look like a good free throw shooter, JaVale McGee from Nevada... the guy's a career 49 per cent free throw shooter...

They needed an inside banger, somebody to help them on the boards, instead they brought in a twig... with Andray Blatche, Oleksiy Pecherov, Brendan Haywood and Etan Thomas (and with 2006's second round pick Vladimir Vermeenko considering coming over from Europe), did they really need another agile but physically weak 7 footer??

Seems like a little overkill to me... from what I've read, if Georgetown's Roy Hibbert hadn't been drafted the pick before, the Wiz would have taken the 7-2, 280 pounder... that would have been a better pick for them...

McGee has incredibly long arms, even for a 7 footer, and with his agility he should offer the team something as a shot blocker... but like I said, what they really needed was a muscular banger...

I've watched the whole thing so far.

Just to watch my Kansas connection go to the NBA since they won't be repeating.

After being traded three or 4 times Darrell Arthur ends up in Memphis. lol

I don't like that we traded Mike Miller but at least we got OJ Mayo instead fat arse Kevin Love.

I'm sorry, but the NBA draft is unwatchable for me. There are so many trades that it doesn't matter one lick who drafts what guy where, outside the Top 5.

And even then, 2 of the Top 5 guys drafted yesterday were traded.

What I hate is how Rob Hibbert(Picked by my Raptors) was announced as a Raptor player and can't officially become a Pacer until July 9th(Unless you've been living under a rock, you would know that Jermaine O'Neal is a Raptor now) same goes with Nathan Jawai, Aussie Shaq they call him down under.

Hibbert is going to be a NBA star

Naw, his top potential is a 12 points per game, 10 rebounds per game off the bench type...

There's a place for that kind of player in the NBA, but you don't generally find them in All-Star games...

Hibbert makes Muresan look athletic.

As for the Spurs picks......Everyone was under the impression that they wanted Batum, but they seemed to have a flippin Championship style party in the war room when they drafted Hill....I was not too fond of the pick, mainly cause Greene was still on the board, but I trust Pop and RC. I didn't like the 2nd pick at all, but when we traded him to PHX for Hairston, a 2nd, and cash.....I was very pleased. I didn't like the Gist pick, mainly cause Will Daniels and Keith Brumbaugh were still on the board....thankfully both went undrafted and we can perhaps get both on our summer league squad.

I will say this. I wish we could have drafted Batum and had Portland draft Hill.......then traded Batum for Hill and Greene. Even moreso.....Batum and Bonner for Hill, Greene, Dorsey, and other considerations. We probably wouldn't have drafted Gist....since that pick would most likely have gone to Portland.

I would also like to move Vaughn, even if all we get is a 2nd round pick or money out of the deal. We probably re-sign Thomas and Horry to 1 year deals. This would give us Horry, Thomas, Barry, and Udoka coming off the books at the end of next season.

So going into FA we could have potentially had this roster:

C - Oberto, Mahimni, Dorsey
PF - Duncan, Thomas, Horry
SF - Bowen, Udoka, Greene
SG - Manu, , Hairston
PG - Parker, Hill, Barry

We would have the MLE and LLE to sign a wing player, hopefully Artest or Gomes. Our roster would definitely have gotten younger, more athletic, faster, and deeper.

THE ABOVE IN BLUE IS HOW I WISH THE DRAFT AND SUBSEQUENT MANEUVERS WOULD HAVE GONE DOWN.

But as it stands now......

C - Oberto, Mahimni, Bonner
PF - Duncan, Horry, Thomas
SF - Bowen, Udoka, Gist
SG - Manu, Barry, Hairston
PG - Parker, Hill, Vaughn

I would like to move Vaughn and Bonner if possible. Also, sign Artest or Gomes. It would be sweet if Javtokas were able to come over as well.....but I doubt it. I do not see Gist making the team or the roster. I am hopeful for Brumbaugh to find his way onto the Spurs roster sometime this summer or fall......

so based on how the draft actually went down, this is the team I would love for the Spurs to field next year.

C - Oberto, Mahimni, Javtokas
PF - Duncan, Horry, Thomas
SF - Bowen, Udoka, Brumbaugh
SG - Manu, Artest/Gomes, Hairston
PG - Parker, Hill, Barry

and if it did go down like this..........CHAMPIONSHIP

i hear we will make a strong push for artest if he decides to opt out. i think he wants to win a championship so i think we would have a decent chance at landing him

The Lakers want him as well....they can give him more money, Hollywood, bright lights and media.....plus his ego would get a huge boost cause he would get so much more credit for his defensive efforts in LA than in SA. LA is an average defensive team that could become very good with Artest. SA is a great defensive team, who would become that much more greater.

Hey, don't go trashin' ol' Lurch!!!

It's wild, the Wiz went from stick man Manute Bol to the giant but utterly uncoordinated Gheoghe... two more different "big men", you couldn't hope to find... I'll be one of Muresan's legs weighed more than Manute ever did...

If Artest opts out, he is LA bound. Kobe and PJ have been recruiting him for years. Artest LOVES Kobe. LA then brings Lamar off the bench or sends him for a upgrade at PG. LA could do a Baron Davis for Odom swap in a heartbeat. GS has been after Lamar for 2 years now. They know Baron won't stay past this year. Won't happen though because PJ hates Baron for some reason. Has already vetoed 2 trades that would've sent him to LA. The first one was Glen Rice for Baron and Anythony Mason. LA 5 peats if jackson doesn't stupidly reject that deal. The 2nd was ending contracts and Caron Butler for Davis. We ended up using that same package for Kwame, who we turned into Gasol.
