The new formations. Anyone see them?

So, I read some of the practice reports on the team website today and I think it was today's practice that mentioned the team had been trying out some new formations, but that reporters were not allowed to discuss them. they mentioned that they are still tinkering with them, and so it probably isn't a final product yet.....but, did anyone go to the practice where they were running these? I'd like to hear more about them. I can only assume this is an extension of the Razorback formation, which of course, has been reported.

You Should've Seen:

A special formation. Reporters aren't allowed to write or speak about some nifty formations and plays the Cowboys have trotted out in the past two days, although fans attending practice sure got an eyeful. Phillips said the team would work on a few new formations throughout camp, but only stick with what works, so it's anyone's guess whether this special formation will make it to the regular season.

Someone here posted some pics and one had the three rbs in the backfield. I forgot who's photos they were....

nice. very interesting. man, it sure would be exciting to have stanback in that mix, seeing as he can throw the ball.

I like Romo in the backfield instead. No need for Stanback.

well, duh. but if you're gonna run a funky formation, give the D something to REALLY think about.

I posted the other day in the "rice and beans" thread about a formation I saw in saturday's(7/1/09) afternoon practice.

it looked like this:

Witten and Bennett were out wide with Witten to Romo's right

Barber in the backfield

Williams and Crayton on Romo's left side with Bennett, with Crayton next to Bennett and Williams closer to the Linemen.

Yeah, I saw quite a few with the TEs both lined up out wide.

Stanback's arm would probably fall off if he tried to throw.

You could have heard a pin drop when Tony lined up at Center and hiked it to Gurode, who then took a 3 step drop and threw a go to Austin.

lol. Must run this play, only have Tony hike it over Gurode's head.

I really think this 3 back in the backfield system could be a formation that really screws up teams. Many teams are probably going to have a linebacker spying Felix when he's on the field. Suddenly that guy is wondering what he's going to do because Felix is lined up out wide, then he motions into the backfield, then you're looking at 3 different guys who could end up taking a hand off or pitch.

A split second of confusion for a defense pre snap can create a huge play.

I'm ROFLOL!
Now that would be some funny ****! Sweet revenge.
I can just see Gurode trying to scramble his large *** backwards to recover the ball.
