When healthy, Murray is in the top tier of RBs with McCoy and Forte. Peterson is still the best IMO

Great article on the Saints organization's reaction to us finally finding our running game. Enjoy.

When they get to third down, you see him in there as a protector. So he’s getting a lot of snaps and has been a big weapon for ‘em.”

His pick-up blocks on the defenders was money.. Instead of simply sticking to empty backfield all the time, we have this feature...

This stuff was said before the game was played. They'd have said it with feeling after the game.

Not only that, it keeps the defense guessing. You can't just pin your ears back and try and tackle Tony.

That was before the game. Would love to know what they think of him after the game!

Their whole defensive scheme was intended to stop Murray. 149 yards and 2TDs later, I guess they realized the scheme didn't work.

With the dominant running game now, I hope we see less empty backfields. I don't have anything to back this up, but I have to believe when the opponent sees a strong running team empty their backfield, there is a certain sense of relief.

Nope. They keyed on Dez and hoped to stop Murray with their base D.

Worked at first but......... Murray and the OLine WILL take it to ya.

2nd half, however, there were 8 in the box and guess what?

TOUCH DOWN DEZ!!

God, that was a thing of beauty last night. All of it. Complete choreographed desolation.

Finally.............

That's the true beauty of how the game went down last night. You could clearly see on multiple occasions that they placed 8 in the box. On multiple occasions last night, we either jammed it down their throats with a determination to run that was previously unseen or we burnt them in single coverage with no safety help.

When a team places 8 in the box in an effort to make a statement and you still jam successful runs down their pie holes you're really doing some serious work on offense.

And they said all this BEFORE Murray ran their behind into the ground. And kudos to our blockers, not just OL but TE's, WRs and FB, because this was a complete team effort.

Yep. Methodical, precise and complete group effort including the staff. I can't remember the last time I saw Witten so fired up.

And he was going out his mind celebrating after a seal block. On another block I thought he tore the guy's head off but he hit the guy so hard, his facemask got caught on Witt's jersey.
