The new stadium opens in 2009. Does this affect Jerry's choice for HC now?

The new stadium opens after 2 years; in fact it opens in 2009. Texas Stadium has but two years left for it's Cowboy's football life. So, does this affect Jerry's choice for the next head HC? Jerry's got to be thinking about this - that he can't open the 2009 season with a losing coach (or have Texas Stadium ride off in the sunset with a loser).

If Jones hires a young head coach (ala Mike Singleteryy) he'll have to give him more than two years to establish himself, if these next two seasons don't go so well for the young coach. This may mean growing pains for the coach and losseas for Texas Stadium's last two seasons. And because of the youth and inexperiece, Jones may feel pressure to stick with the same young coach going into the new stadium.

But Jones won't feel the same pressure to give a more experienced coach the same luxury. That's what I think is driving Jones' desire to hire a guy like Phillips or Turner. Because these coaches are old enough, and have head-couched before, giving them just two years with this current crop of talent is enough to fire them after two seasons if they don’t win a Super Bowl in that short time. And because of their experince, they may close Texas Stadium out as a winner.

So weighing these options, I think Jones will go with an older coach and likely it will be Turner because he at least can work with Garret and get him ready for the head coaching title in 2009 if necessary. Basically, I don’t think Jones will hire Turner because he’s the best person for the Job (for that, my money would be on Singleterry), but instead because he gives Jones a chance to win now, and also gives him the option, if need be, of going into the new stadium with Garreet, after being groomed for two seasons.

The stadium will sell itself out. The Cardinals haven't had any problems selling tickets and they are the Cardinals.

Until the luster of a new stadium wears off...then its just the same old Cardinals.

Unless this team wins the SB in the next 2 years, the closet Norv will get to the new stadium will be a postcard from Jerry.

The bottom line is to bring in coaches from the Jimmy era all you are getting are bad imposters of the man. If you want someone from that era get the man himself and that isnt happening. Coaches from the Parcells area might be considered only because Parcells could have an influence on them that he didnt really let them coach. But I feel the best one is in New Orleans. We need a coach that will let his assts. coach. Like I said before with the new stadium comming you better be close to championship contention or a champ. When Jimmy got hired you started fresh. Then untill we hired Parcells we changed again. Do not hire people that are immitations, go original and start fresh with young inspired talent at head coach. Wait and interview Ron Rivera. then chose from Garrett, Singeltary, Or Rivera. Maybe you can get all 3 in some capacity. Hc Offensive & defensive co-ordinators. Thats the ticket laddie

I don't think JJ is worried about who the coach is in the new stadium. He is concerned with winnig next year. The stadium will sell out.

If he makes the right choice, and wins, it takes care of itself. I don't think any of these coaches will be any better or worse choice then any other at this point. I will be happy with any of the 3 and support the Cowboys as a team. I am not opposed to wait until after the SB for JJ to interview Rivera and Caldwell also.

I watched the fly through presentation of the stadium on the Cowboys website and it showed Bill Parcells as the coach.

I wonder if that means anything?
