Remember those threads? Seemed premature then, feels like a long time ago now.

But it's emblematic of the 21st century Cowboys - anointed without having accomplished anything. Guys looking like they spent more time putting together their travel ensemble than watching video of the opponent, getting rock star treatment as they're driven to the stadium where a doorman awaits them. I don't recall Emmitt Smith doing that and I know Roger Staubach didn't.

"We can't lose those guys! We've got to pay them or we're screwed!"

Pay them for what? What are we afraid is going to happen if they leave? We'll lose in the playoffs, or worse, not even qualify for them? Zeke and Tank's deals are done, but let's think twice before adding Dak and Amari to the list.

Everyone my self included has been always searching for the new triplets when the real thing we should've been searching for the whole time is a new team with GM accountability.

If you’re point is that Aikman, Smith, and Irvin didn’t get rock star treatment (or think of themselves as such), then you’d be wrong.

If you’re point is that Dak, Zeke, and Amari don’t deserve the same treatment based on what they’ve accomplished so far, then you couldn’t be more right.

The original triplets weren't given that title until they actually accomplished something. Winners everywhere get treated like rock stars.

Today's Cowboys get treated like rock stars simply because they're Cowboys. It goes back to the culture created by our illustrious owner.

Jerry luvs him sum hype. Makes money, but it does have downsides.

Too many guys count their accomplishments before they hatch. Rico was saying he wanted to be the best, comparing himself to guys like Gronk, before he had done anything at *any* level of football.

It would do the Cowboys a lot of good to shut down comparisons to great Cowboys of the past by saying: "How many Super Bowl rings you see on my hand? Until you see at least one, don't come around asking me to compare myself to guys who have them."

Agreed. And besides the real triplets in Dallas are Jerry, Stephen, & Spalding!!

Let's not anoint people until they win a championship or at least make the NFC Championship game.

Romo, Murray, and Dez were better triplets than these hooligans we currently have. Can’t wait til they’re gone. Wanna see real triplets? Look at the Saints. Brees, Thomas, and Kamara are real triplets. Russell, Chris Carson, and Lockett are real triplets. Damien Williams, Mahomes, and Tyreek Hill are triplets. Dak, Zeke, and Amari? A trio of jokesters.

Days like today, you can't fault the fan base for speaking their minds. However, sometimes we kick the dog a little to hard, to often. Most of you are right I believe. Dak and Elliott and Coop aren't Troy and Emmitt and Mike. I get it, we want to believe that because it's been a really long time but, it's true, they aren't those three HOFers. Doesn't mean that can't' develop but that's not who they are today. Takes more then talent. Takes heart, takes knowledge, takes experience and lot of hard work with a willingness to sacrifice.

Takes time and these guys, they haven't given enough of it yet. I don't think you say that we don't sign any of them. I think you support the team when they offer a decent contract. When the team is willing to offer a fair deal, and lets face it, this team does do that all the time, then support the team. Don't just go with "Pay The Man" because you have ask yourself, why are you paying a player? What have they done to earn the pay? This game is about winning. Nothing else matters. TDs, INTs, Sacks, you name it, none of it matters if you are winning. Those things only become important when you are losing. It's a team game, pay guys who win. Pay them fairly, treat them fairly but don't buy in on paying guys for no good reason.

That's what I think anyway.

I get that you’re upset with the cowboys - but don’t shame the term “triplets” by anointing any of the above as such.

The real triplets (Troy, Irvin, Emmitt) earned that title by accomplishing something.

None of the above mentioned trios (including the current cowboys) have done squat.
