Dude what are you talking about? Mangini or whatever his name is didn't have any experience or the bum in Houston.... Black coaches need more opportunity to be head coaches...

Oh brother. Who cares if the best COACH for any team is poka dotted.
I hire people all day every day. If the best option I have is half purple with Pink hair, that person gets the job.

Charlie Weis would be my first choice, but I doubt he leaves ND.

Bob Stoops may be the type of HC this current roster needs........surround him with good coordinators. Stoops probably coached his best season at OU this year

Don't even go there with the color of his skin. I never said that.

The coach in Houston, his name escapes me at the moment, was Shannahan's top assistant for many many years and turned down numerous offers to be head coach. He put in his time.

All I said was that Singletary needs a little more experience.

I'm sticking with my comments and I don't care who likes it. Oh by the way I hire as well at my firm but I look at everything as well when making hiring decisions...

Man. I would absolutely love to have Singletary as our DC. Do you really think he's ready for a HC job?

In 2003, Singletary became linebackers coach for the Baltimore Ravens (pairing Singletary with Ray Lewis). Following the 2004 season, the San Francisco 49ers hired Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Nolan to be their head coach, and Singletary left the Ravens with Nolan to be San Francisco's assistant head coach and linebackers coach.

His resume is rather short. how about giving him a slightly better role here than he currently has in San Fran? Make him the Asst HC and also DC.

I'd be fine with that.

Stoops would top my list of realistic candidates.

I like Weis and Cowher, but Weis isn't leaving ND and even if Cowher "retires", I think he'll sit out at least one year before taking a new job.

My main concern with a new HC is personnel decisions. I wonder how much control the HC would have. Even though JJ makes the "final" decision, he usually listens to someone, especially regarding the draft, before the decision is made. Hopefully Jeff Ireland is the real deal and won't get overridden in the draft room.
