Robert Griffin III did not fair well in Mike Sando of ESPN Insider's quarterback rankings, in which Sando polled NFL coaches and evaluators and had them place starting quarterbacks into talent tiers.

35 NFL "insiders, who all chose to remain anonymous, partook in the survey, weighing in on each quarterback and the tier they assigned them. Griffin ranked 28th of 32 quarterbacks, with 30.5% change in rating from last season, when he was 19th.

One offensive coach was blunt in his analysis of RGIII, placing him in the fifth and lowest tier.

"Five, and there's no coming back," the coach said. "He is done. The reason is, the injury slowed his legs, and his ego will not allow him to hit rock bottom and actually grind his way back up the right way."

As Sando noted in his introduction and explanation of the tiers, "Tier 4 is typically reserved for unproven starters or those who might not be expected to last in the lineup all season. Voters used the fifth tier sparingly."

Griffin's injuries has finished his career. They took what made him special and now he is a JAG QB and likely won't be in the league in 4 years.

I don't think he had much of a career to begin with.

His rookie season was based on a gimmicky offense that the league wasn't prepared for. If you watch him now and if you see him in games from his rookie year, he has a very difficult time seeing over his linemen. If his rookie year he could use the play fake and throw to receivers that were *wide* open because the defenses were not prepared for the scheme and the linebackers would bite on the fake to stop the run.

In our last game against him in his rookie year, he wasn't very effective throwing the ball because you could see that Rob Ryan told the LB's to not bite on the play-fake. He doesn't have the footwork to move himself around in the pocket to find passing lanes. Unfortunately, we had so many injuries on defense in that game that the only prerequisite became that a player had to have a heartbeat to play on defense. So the Skins ran the ball at will in that game.

Now that the league has figured out the read option look, it's a completely different ball game. Russell Wilson can use the read option, but he's probably the best I've ever see at throwing the ball on the move and is the only QB I've seen that actually backs up in order to give himself time and can pull it off. Even still, I wouldn't call the Seattle offense explosive. It compliments their defense very well.

The fact is that RG3 was healthy last year and stunk. He's also using a WCO which is all about footwork and that's what he doesn't have. I think he had a much better chance if he had sat out his rookie year and learned the game and the mechanics. So in reality, RG3's rookie year was the best thing for us, the Eagles and the Giants.

He is a talented kid, maybe with spot light off of him he can finally see what others around him have been saying. Something to be said when you get anointed the next big thing in the NFL when you are rookie.

I blame Mike Shanannan for letting him into that playoff injured, then reinjured it. Should have been fired for ruining the franchise QB.
