The NFL is not very entertaining anymore

Manipulated, most likely. But My pet peeve is the proliferation of commercial ads running during a game now. Impacting entertainment value. For illustration, this study.....
(From the Wall St Journal)
Breakdown of average NFL game minutes (% of total)
1-Players standing around 1hour 7 Minutes=35%
2-ADVERTISING 1 H 3M = 33%
3-Other (cheerleaders,etc) 34m =18%
4-Replays 17m = 9%
5-ACTUAL PLAYING TIME 11Minutes = 6%

Let that sink in.
Which is more annoying too. It's one of the things I enjoy a lot about European Football. There's no standing about or panning the camera to things that have nothing to do with the game being played. You won't see Justin Kluivert (Bournemouth's striker) having his girlfriend shown on camera during the match. You might see the manager or, if the manager is in danger of being sacked, the owner shown. But it's always someone with some stake in the game. Helps that it's 45 minutes in each half of constant action. The NFL games could be much quicker if they'd reduce the crap that has nothing to do with the game

I dont think they want the games to be quicker, but I may be wrong. (NFL gets its precious revenue either way, more time. more ads, higher ratings). You're right though, the Chiefs home games have been a circus at times. (Tay and Trav...cute). Jerruh was on the media committee and recently went to the Media-owned and operated committee, whatever the hell that is. He and Kraft had a disagreement. Notice how networks interrupt injury timeouts for commercials (60 seconds) nowadays. Just one subtle change. We all know what's behind it....$$$$$ for the league.

Oh I'm aware they don't want it sped up. Longer games mean more adverts. Simple as that, but it's annoying.
