The NFL needs to change their policy on retired players. The way things are unfolding with GreenBay and Brett Farve are horrible.

This reminds me of Junior Seau. One week he retires from the Miami Dolphins then he unretires to go to a team on the verge of winning yet another SuperBowl a week or two later.

IMO, more and more veteran players will take advantage of the system to get out of a certain situation and try to get themselves into a better situation.

IMO, the way that the NFL could make changes is once a player retires, he must stay retired for the season that the player choices to call it quits.

For example, Brett Farve, who retired this March, should be forced by the league, if a new rule that I suggest, to stay out for the 2008-09 season.

Greenbay has installed their playbook to meet what Aaron Rodgers strengths are. It's not fair for Aaron Rodgers who has been working throughout the minicamps and offseason thinking it is finally his turn.

The bottom line, if the NFL wants to advoid such a media nightmare that is Brett Farve trying to unretire that should meet next oofseason and change their policy on players that retire and what to come back the year they retire.

I have no problem with a player wanting to come back as long as they sit at least one year. It makes me sick that a player like Farve is doing this to a team that he has been with for 17 years. IMO, he is stabbing the Packers in the back.

What do you guys think about the NFL's current policy on players that retire? Do you like the current policy? Would you like to see a change?

You don't like Brett Favre do you?

You know what, I loved Farve. He was one of my favorite players in the NFL. He has always been a great person on and off the field but now I must say the way he is taking care of business is not cool.

I have lost a little respect for Farve. I knew he was going to come back. I also had a feeling that Farve would try to come back within the division to try to prove to GB that they were wrong not getting him weapons like Moss and GB failed to make offensive upgrades this year.

IMO, that is not the way to go about business.

GB holds Favre's rights. It's not like he can just decide to play somewhere else.

If only Barry Sanders could have sat one year, and then played for another team. What a waste....

The team has his rights, they can trade him, release him or pay him. I think Farve is rediculous with his indecision.

I think it would be criminal if a team could keep him from playing for a year.

Pay him and sit his butt if you want to start Rodgers.

He prolly retired because Green Bay seem to have no interest in keeping him in the first place.

But it sounds like he is going to push to play somewheres else because he asked for a flatout release.

I've always that a way to show respect for someone is to learn to spell their name right.

He just needs to watch "There's Something about Marry" once and he'll never forget how to spell it.

Why change it? Outside of your dislike of Farve, the current policy doesn't change the relationship between the team and player. I doubt the league will change the rules because of a player who can't make up his mind.

You should do some research before you write stuff like this.

You are acting like a player just says 'I'm retired' so he can then turn around and go somewhere else in a few weeks.

That's way off base.

As for Seau. The Chargers were not looking to keep him and he wasn't under contract with them anymore.
