I keep seeing where fans are saying the Texans offense isn’t very good. Certainly they have their run game issues, so how our run defense fared doesn’t tell us a lot.
However, the Houston offense of the previous two weeks (where they were held under 20 points and Stroud had low completion percentages) isn’t the same as the one we faced because their top playmaker missed those two games.
The comparable effort would be their first game of the season, the only other one Collin’s played in, against Buffalo. Houston scored 31 points against the Bills and Stroud completed 68.4 percent of his passes and threw for two TDs, like he did against us. He threw for more yards against us but a slightly lower completion percentage.
Not saying that means anything positive about our defense but we should at least compare apples to apples.
