The No. 1 pick in the 2016 NFL draft is for sale. That's according to multiple general managers I spoke with this week. The belief is that in a class that's described as "flat," there is no can't-miss player for the Tennessee Titans to draft at the top of the order. They're willing to move the pick to a team in need of a quarterback.
— The general consensus in talking to NFL scouts this week is that a quarterback will go No. 1 overall after someone trades up with the Titans. The most common answer to which player that will be is Cal quarterback Jared Goff.

I can see SF trading up to #1 but I doubt a team in the teens will go up that high and give up tons of picks.

Even moving from seven to one, you are mortgaging your short term future, at the very least. I'm not sure any team is going to be willing to pay full price for that pick when even Goff isn't a clear cut number one. Tennessee might have to take less than they normally would to move it.

Right! I am just thinking that SF could realistically be the only one....unless Dallas is thinking of jumping ahead of Cleveland for Goff :p

It will cost a lot for even SF to trade up. The value chats show the 1st pick (Tenn) to be worth 3000 pts and the 7th (SF) to be worth 1500. SF's 2nd rounder is worth 510. That still leaves almost 1000 pts to make up. Pretty much says SF has to give up this years 1st and 2nd rounders and next year's 1st rounder. If I'm Tennessee, I take that all day long.

and there is your reason why Tennessee always seems to draft high. They have glaring need to upgrade OL and protect Mariota but no lets hype the draft spot to see how many draft picks Dallas Cowboys can give us.

Wow that's a lot to give up for Goff. I don't see them doing that. They lost so many players due to retirement & breaking up the teams old core this past season and both Kaepernick & Gabbert fit the molds of what Kelly wants in a QB.

Agree. The wild card for them, though, is Chip Kelly...he doesn't have final say on personnel, but he may have a lot of influence (honeymoon period). Like you said, they have a lot of holes to fill, so trading multiple premium picks wouldn't make a lot of sense on the surface. That said, it may very well come down to what ol' Chip thinks of Kaepernick.

I think Tenn using the overall 1 to pick up multiple picks would be a great move for them. If a team like the 9ers want to jump up to Tenn pick, they would get the 7th overall and a lot more in return still being able to address OL and other areas as well

Yup Kelly is totally unpredictable but i still don't think they trade. Now don't get me wrong. I would love to see Chip Kelly be like the Plague going from division rival to division rival ruining them because he thinks hes a football genius but i think SF learned not to give Kelly the reins after watching what he did in Philly.

Yea, I don't think they give him that much latitude either, but they haven't done a lot that makes sense lately so you never know.

Chip is out of the player personnel business. Given his last stint I think it will leave it up to others to make the picks and trades.

The only way that pick is getting sold is if they put it on clearance. Nobody is trading the 3 1st Rd picks + more it should take to get up there.

would not take that much for a team picking 7th to move up to 1. Yes it would still cost but not 3 1st rd picks
