The Obvious?

Some ask why Dak doesn't run when he has the chance to and if Linehan and the coaching staff drilled it into his head not to run, it's like he doesn't want to displease or anger them. Or he wants to please them with proof that he can play in the offense they strictly want him to play and stick to. Now Linehan has impacted Dak mentality like if Dak sees an opening to run he thinks "Better not do it, because they told me not to."

We have the most clueless coaching staff in the NFL, who can't see that Dak's best and most productive games are when he uses his legs. If a QB is struggling to be consistent and is trying to improve on his play, then wouldn't it make sense to use his best abilities in the playcalling.

Unfortunately, we don't have an offencive version of Richard to rescue him at this time.

Surely it can't be this simple but since the beginning of the 2017 - when we rolled out this "Dak friendly" offense, I've been asking myself... why?

I mean I understand the thinking in wanting to take advantage of his size, and running ability, but am I the only one who thinks he played MUCH better in the offense designed for Romo during his rookie season?
He played alot better when Romo was coaching him.

Now he is gone and we have Linehan and Moore helping him.

Right into a train wreck career.

I see DAKs hesitation at times.

I am sure it comes from the desire to see him run the play as designed.

Which produces sacks as he tries to read the defense but he has to move, reset, recock..

then eat turf.

It's madding to watch.

We all scream at the TV

" Get rid of the ball, DAK"

but he takes another sack.

Dak played better in his rookie season because Garrett/ Linehan didn't have time to coach him up like they have now.

Dak friendly started this season not last

Dak plays better when they actually utilize his running ability.........which isn't very much lately :banghead:
That’s the problem
We talked about a offense designed for Dak then use it very rarely
I don’t want Dak running 10 times every game but now he’s not even running when things break down

We had a better OL. Made Dak look way better than he is.

Dak friendly just means having skill players who won't call him out when he continues to misread defenses, makes bad choices, bad throws etc. Case in point: when Dez was 1 on 1 in the red zone he was supposed to get the ball no matter the play call. That's what he was told for 8 years. But when Dak failed to do this he held up 2 fingers. If we had scored Dez wouldn't have cared but the play failed and of course he felt like he would have scored. The front office didn't want anyone hurting baby daks feelings and cut Dez to stomp out any inner turmoil when Dak was exposed for being worse than his 2016 numbers lead sheep to believe.

Dallas TD's scored from inside the red zone:
2018 18
2017 33
2016 39

Dallas TD's scored from outside the red zone:
2018 10
2017 7
2016 10

Dak didn't play in Tony's offense, Linehan just did a decent enough job of calling plays built to Dak's skillset.

The problem is that defenses figured out those 4 plays and realized that Dak couldn't sit in the pocket and throw down the field consistently. He's been playing in Tony's (see also: JG's) offense the last two years now.
