The offense set the defense up for failure

As dissappointed as I am in Jenkins, the defense actually played a great game.

It was poor play calling and execution that put the defense in poor field position.

1 touchdown came on an intercepted pass that put the vikings on our 21. Another touchdown came from really poor play call that put the vikings in good position to eventually pin us in our own endzone. Next time the vikings got the ball it was on our 49 yard line.

Thats 14 points that I attribute to the offense.

7 points was completely on special teams.

Even the last 3 points was on our offense. They started with the ball on our 30...

Our defense has been very very good this season. We need to improve our pass rush in the second half. Our LB's seem to get gassed, we may need to stop waiting until the 4th to bring in backups to give starting LB's rest.

I would not go that far. The defense has been pretty average. They don't force turnovers and never make plays or stops when they need to. Sure, if you look at the rankings they seem good. But they are 17th in yards given up per play. Our offense helps in the fact they hold the ball so long. But the defense gives up an average of 5.2 yards per play. Not what i call very very good

If our offense played anywhere near our potential, our D would much rather suit the role of playing with leads. Apart from Ball being terrible in coverage, this D makes teams work for their points for the most part. i'm far too lazy to look this up, but I wonder what the stats are for drives where the opponent starts behind their 35, the usual field position a team should have after a kickoff return.

I would think our defense is one of the best in the league at actually making our opponents go down the entire field and get points.

I will agree that our offense hardly ever puts the d in a good situation. The special teams doesn't help out the d either. I wonder what our opponents average start position is against us this year... it has to be among the worst in the league.

We scored first against the vikes.... few minutes later it was tied up because romo threw a pick in our territory.

Never had the lead on the titans.

Never had the lead on the skins

We were up 7-3 on the bears, then our d completely fell apart.

So really the only time we have had a lead this year that wasn't given away by the offense or special teams was against the bears.

The defense gets no props.

Not one time this season has this "defense" made a key turnover, that you see almost every other defense do on Sundays. Sure, they get three and outs from time to time. But, gimme a break. Name the last time this defense has helped out the offense with a turnover "THEY" caused? changed field position and made the other team sweat a little bit?

I will wait. It's gonna take a while.

And I don't mean the fumble that Farve gave em.

Defense has been good, but, has done NOTHING in the momentum department to help out this struggling team....

I don't recall the last time I saw Bradie James bait a QB like Henderson did.

Don't recall EITHER db or safety took an INT back for a TD. Hell, half the time they are not even in position to make a key INT.

It's frustrating.

Bad plays on EACH side of the ball, LACK OF BIG PLAYS on each side of the ball and ST's is the ONLY failure to this season's Cowboys.

It has been a total team effort. Too many mistakes and turnovers on offense. Too many mistakes and not enough turnovers on defense. Too many mistakes and overall suckiness on special teams. Penalties. The Cowboys need to clean it up. They can beat any team in the league if they do.

You know, it really has to be the system. We have had problems creating turnovers for awhile now. And hearing things from scouts about how predictable our coverage schemes are is really worrisome. It's one thing to have a predictable offense, but you can overcome that by execution. But a predictable defense is no way to win games.

Offenses will exploit predictable defenses all the time, which i think is why we are never is position to make plays. Offenses know what coverages to expect and call plays accordingly.
