He'll either be franchised or sign a massive contract somewhere else. I don't see any way we'll get him.

And he will cost a lot of money. And if we get him and Dallas plays any sort of zone, instead of man, I'll go freakin' hay-wire. If Anthony Henry even steps on the field as corner if we have this guy, despite me liking Wade as a coach in many ways, I'm gonna punch Wade in the gut.

The Raiders play man all the time, and he doesn't give up anything.

Maybe if we hadn't drafted Scandrick and Jenkins. But since we did, there's no chance. Dude's going to get a massive, massive contract somewhere.

I thought they couldn't franchise him again this year, something like Hayneworth had in his clause last season...

Why would we even want to consider going after him? Makes no sense.

You can't have the best player in the league at every position...silly.

We "maybe" need CB depth, but we certainly don't need to go out and pay big money for a starting CB. We have 4 starting CB's now, not to mention Ball who quietly came on.

Find me a starting ILB or backup NT/QB/OL.

Ok I can see what someone would want him, but we have 3 CBs who have starting potential. Souldn't we use that money somewhere that actually needs an upgrade? SS, signing Ware, MLB to replace Thomas (since I don't think he is coming back), etc?

Agreed. He is awesome. I watched him shut down All Pro Andre Johnson when they played the Texans. But, we need help elsewhere.

not only do we need help elsewhere, but signing him would probably mean not enough money to resign ware to an extension because of the size of contract he is going to get.

This team has greater needs than another franchise pay-grade level corner.
I'll pass... but clearly NOT based on talent & ability.

The Cowboys should continue to develop Scandrick and Jenkins, part ways with Henry and force the 2 young corners to compete to start at the open corner slot. The other can man the 3rd corner position, which plays a lot in Wade's D.

I doubt they will go after a corner who will command big dollars. Instead I think they will be bargain hunting for guys like Crowell (ILB), Tubbs(DT) and someone like Justin Miller, the corner orginally drafted by the Jets.

Amen wayne. Hell find me an OT and C in the draft that can push Flozell and Andre to the bench is what I want in the offseason. Oh, and a real drafted WR, not a converted QB, would be nice too. :D

CB is not a major need. We have 1 great CB and two extremely promising rookies. Spending 50 mils or so on another CB makes zero sense.

Especially spending a first-round pick on Jenkins makes it unlikely that Dallas would go after any high-dollar corner. If they are going to spend high-dollar on any defensive position, I would expect it to be nose tackle.

That would allow Dallas to move Ratliff to end and not get into a bidding battle for Canty, plus give us a bigger body in the middle to help force double-teams and clog things up. Of course, I'm not sure anyone is out there worth getting at the position.

:welcome: to The Zone.

I'd take Haynesworth over him. Peppers too. I put a premium on a DL who can cause OLs and QBs problems.

Nmandi is staying because over the last 4-5 years he has been the only solid guy in the secondary. They got rid of Hall, Bucannon, Washington. Routt is a bum, Cris Carr is gone. And everyone out here thinks Huff is a big time bust.

The only guy I see getting axed in Oakland who is steady is Justin Fargas. They have too many backs to keep happy. The Michael Bush pick is turning out to be pretty solid.

I think he's overrated honestly... I don't care what people say. He's still no Champ Bailey, sorry.

IMO Nmandi has been better than Champ for 2 years now. There is NO QUESTION he was better this year.

But.....

If we do find a way to sign him as a FA, it'll make all our Dlinemen and LBs better because he may force the QB to hold onto the ball for a second or two longer. W/ him on the team, Ware could turn those near sacks into actual sacks and have one of the greatest seasons as a pass rusher.

As others have mentioned, I doubt Jerry's even considering a move to sign him because of the investments we've made at the position this past year and the fact that we have other holes to fill. But I think signing this guy would have as much impact (if not more) than signing a Haynesworth or a Peppers.

Then again, you could also make the argument that a haynesworth or a Peppers could improve our CBs......
