Dez said in an interview at the charity basketball game that he was a Cowboy for life so I think a deal will get done.

With his endorsements increasing I think Dez would accept 11-13 mil/yr.

I wonder if this sentiment is the reason we have yet to hear very much about Dez's contract negotiations.

Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant expects to remain with team

I think it goes without saying Dez is a Cowboy next year. But how much will he need to be paid?

They can keep him with the franchise tag which is projected to be 12.8M. There is no reason to pay him significantly more than the tag number.

Jordy Nelson's contract only averages 8.6M per season and he was 4th in receiving yards and had 13TDs. Dez was 8th and had 16 TDs.

Megatron is the highest paid WR and his contract averages 18.8M per season.

Tyron Smith's contract averages 10.9M per year as the 2nd biggest overall contract for a Cowboys player.

God, I hope that's the case. His attitude indicates we won't actually franchise tag him.

i don't see how everyone wants to throw 12-15m at Dez, but won't give Murray 6-8m. We are trying to become a running team and we have a 26 yr old RB in his prime.

I think we should pay them both, but you can't say WR is any harder to replace than RB. Did you see last year's draft?

I wouldn't mind paying them both, but the drop off for a RB is significantly worst than a wide receiver.

Also, the Seahawks might f us with this Marshawn Lynch offer

Because We can always get another RB who fumbles in crucial situations.

I think you have it set in your mind that a WR isn't hard to replace when many have presented to the contrary. Last year's WR class is probably one of the best of all time. That kind of depth and top end guys doesn't come around often.

Now look at all the RBs producing. Justin Forsett. Blount. Ingram. Rookies like Bernard and Jeremy Hill. That's without OLs as great as ours.

But we are a running team. Why risk missing out if we already have Murray?

WRs miss just as much as RBs. Look at Harvin, Wallace, Fitzgerald, DBowe, Garcon, AJohnson

Dez has more fumbles than Murray with a lot less touches. Murray had 1 fumble in the last 9 games, how many of them were 'crucial'. C'mon.

And how many fourth downs and short yardages did Murray pick up this year after years of struggling at that? I would say they were 'crucial' plays.

Yeah he picked it up, because of this O-Line.

Even Randle and Dunbar had moments they looked like stars. I'm not impressed at all by Murray. I'll give him the fact he's good at picking up the extra yards after contact, but it's no surprise he runs better and has more yards the year our O-Line improves drastically. Like I said look at Randle and Dunbar. at times.

He was getting 5.0 ypc before this season

I'm not going to put Dez down to build up Murray. I want them both.

Despite what Jerry has said, I fully expect both players to remain Cowboys. If what Bryant says about him being a Cowboy for life is truly how he feels, I hope Jerry can make both of these guys happen.

They both could leave a little on the table if they want to stay and win a title. Romo and TSmith didn't take max money and Lee signed a team friendly deal. If they want max dollars, that's fine and I don't begrudge them, but don't try to say that you care about the Cowboys more than money.

I think enough players are smart enough at this point to see max contracts and winning don't necessarily mesh.
That being said, there's always that one stupid team.
