To be honest, is that the line won't be constituted the same way once the injured players get back.

I think pass pro wise, Barron and Young will be better than Columbo and Holland will be better than Kosier. I don't have to worry about Kosier being overpowered by Haynesworth that much any longer.

Now run blocking is different as these players might be worse than the incumbents in that regard. But I believe they're better pass pro players.

Dude, honestly. Let it go. If Holland were the superior players, he'd be starting by this point.

I agree with Scip.

Kosier consistently rates well when there are scouting or coaching breakdowns.

I've never heard Holland described as more than a journeyman.

What am I missing?

Holland is fat and overrated: case closed. I was hoping he'd get CUT at the beginning of this season. Yikes.

you never know. Crayton was starting over Miles last year until that bum Longhorn got hurt. Free was a better RT than Colombo was last year.

Holland was dumped in a Denver fire sale. I can't ever recall the coaches going out of their way to praise him.

Miles was a young undrafted player from a nothing-school who grew into maturity and then flashed greatness.

Holland has been in the league since 2003, so he's had 8 years to prove himself.

There's no comparison there.

In each case you enumerated, the coaching staff was opting for experience over youth. Holland is far from being an inexperienced player.

I'm not claiming that Holland is a bad player or won't play well in Kosier's absence, but Kosier is absolutely the better player. There's no question at this point.

And in this case they're opting for continuity over anything else. I don't see how that's so ridiculously far fetched the way you make it seem.

Kosier reaps the benefits of continuity because he consistently grades out as one of the best linemen.

Or because he'd been playing with Gurode and Flo 2-3 years before Holland joined the team.

Why is this so difficult for you to accept?

The only think I'm irked about is that we don't seem to have much depth at FS.

ok, now we are getting into the ridiculous category. what's with the man crush on Holland? is he a cousin? brother? relative?

fact is he is a slow footed dumb fat slob, which worries me about protecting Romo and opening lanes for RBs. we need to get rid of Holland and replace him and develop younger players. Holland is what he is. at best a career back up who hs reached his ceiling and is on the way down.

Yeah, I'm the one who's being ridiculous:rolleyes:

A career backup with 48 career starts? Lol

I used to think Holland was better than Kosier myself but as much as we like to pull our guards give me Kosier over Holland.

Holland will do fine though. Im not worried about him at all. More worried about Barron/Brewster.

I think some of you are under the impression that Holland can't play because he is fat. Holland can play.

In those cases the players who weren't starting to begin with were young and had not yet had an opportunity to prove themselves in the NFL. They were waiting for their first shot. In the case of Holland and Barron, both have been starters and have had their chance to prove their worth, and they still came ups short.
