The other options at RB

It's a reason why they call them " highlights " ...
I understand but it's the best resource you can grab unless you have a better source and if you do, please grab it and share it.

I started this thread immediately rating Judkins as my 4th rated RB in this draft just to establish how deep this RB class is.

Does not really matter at 4/5 in this draft, good talent at RB is deeper than what we have seen in quite some time, there will be some stars that shine coming from this draft class.

Wouldn't it be so nice If we were actually able to draft Judkins and we swing again at RB and were able to pair him with say.... a Cam Skattebo as well.

That combo of Rookie RBs would be a special pairing that would instantly redefine our backfield and frustrate opposing league defenses league wide for a long time.

Seeing those two in action together as rookies would go a very long way in correcting this backfield ASAP and improving this offensive design completely.

Anyone read how many carries Jeanty had in college? (it's a lot)

RB at #12 overall is bad roster building. Trade down or take OL, DL, WR. or CB at that spot.

Dallas made a mistake not taking a RB in either of the last 2 drafts. Don't overcompensate now. RB at #12 is a sugar high- a luxury Dallas can't afford with all of its needs. Trading down a little and taking Hampton sounds ideal.
Great observation on college carries workload.
I paid close attention to the info concerning 1500 NFL carries and the steep decline thereafter from a couple or so years back.
When you add in a bellcow type career as a college player I think shelf life and effectiveness definitely should be considered when making high RB choices and whether the value is there or not.

If it were me I'd go the trade down route for a RB as well.

There's a reason jeanty is ranked top 5 and tutens earliest projection is the 3rd.

Also, he's tuten isn't the receiver you're touting him to be. He Isn't going to catch off target passes, and he has a problem with drops.
Yeah the reason is they are wrong, it’s been happening since the very first draft, they don’t get it right, I will repeat it they don’t get it right, they thought Blair Thomas was a better rb than Emmitt, Jimmy thought that James Francis was a better pick than Emmitt, although a lot of us are not scouts or football executives there is a lot of us fans that no more than those people that are getting paid we’re just not in the business for whatever reason.
Tuten why are you stuck on him, even though he’s better than Jeanty at catching passes. And faster .
it doesn’t matter where they have hi projected, there are soooooo many later than first round picks that has had HOF careers or just better careers overall, the draft is a crap shoot, and people that think they are experts just like you and I think we are they get it wrong as we do

I think judkins will be the 5th rb off the board after jeanty, Hampton, Johnson, henderson.

Honestly if these 4 are all gone by 44, I'd look to trade back or go another position.
That is highly likely to happen after the Eagles dominated in the playoffs with running the ball.

There has been a shift. The RB position is no longer being devalued. It hit its floor a couple of years ago, and is now back on the rise.

However, Jerry is often late to figuring these things out.

That’s because everything goes in cycles, I’m in 60s i have seen it happen, and I have been on this ride with the Cowboys from the beginning

Would love to know if Riley is going to pound the table for DJ Giddens
Giddens or Martinez both fit like a glove in the offensive line scheme they’ve hinted at. Don’t really think he has to pound the table as at least one, possibly both should still be there. It’s going to be more the value of the position of what’s there.
If an OL with a 2nd round grade is there like Beebe last season, is still on the board, then which way you figure they’ll go!
At that point they see if one falls into the 4th and then start packaging a 5th, 7th, and next years 4th!

Absolutely, but Jerry is in his 80's and is always behind the curve.

Excellent RB, in my opinion Jeanty is not the best RB in this draft, he's good and I will take him, along with a second RB in this draft.
I too would like to get 2 in this draft if we can. Hampton, Henderson, Judkins, Tuten, all are better than Jeanty in my opinion.
I know I know Jeanty ran for all these yards, and I know that he was 95% or more of the boise offense and everyone lined up to stop him, but he's not good at pass protection, yes he can be taught, he can catch the ball a little bit but he's not very good at it, the other RBs in this draft catches the ball way better than he does.
My biggest thing with Jeanty is that he did not play top level defenses like the other guys the best defense he played against was Penn State, yes he rushed over 100 yards, 104 to be exact but the game was over by the time he hit and went over that 100 it was late in the 4th quarter, he only had 39yards in the first half
Jeanty also had, by far, the worst Oline and supporting cast of the RBs you mentioned. You can't bring up a guys competition without acknowledging his teams weaknesses as well.

Jeanty is not better than every back in the draft not even close. You will see, that all those D2, small D1s, HBCU and top JC defenses he played against,. Like I said he ran for a lot yards he’s good but those defenses he played against were trash. Tuten catches the ball better and he’s way faster, I’m just saying. Most people see all those yards and they want to compare him to Barry but he’s not even close, really yes he has the yards but those defenses were trash .
Jeanty may be the best player in the draft.

He also did not play on a top level team. There are only 2 players in his entire team projected to be drafted. Him and a Dlineman in the 7th round.

Yes I agree, I dont think he does as well in NFL.
And if he doesnt catch or block well, he isnt worth a 1st round pick.

You cant go by stats or HL reels.

At 12, the opportunity for RB won't be there on the Cowboys' evaluated board. WR will be the target. Too much to gain in long termed dollars.

The Eagles, even with a mobile QB, didn't cash in until they had, not good, but a really dominant runner.

Pair up with a future 2nd round pick and move up in the first to also get the RB the team wants!

WR and RB both during round 1.

When it comes to their track record of selecting wide receivers in the first round, their history is just as spotless. CeeDee Lamb (4x Pro Bowler), Dez Bryant (3x Pro Bowler), Alvin Harper, and Michael Irvin (5x Pro Bowler) are the last four receivers selected by Dallas. Across the NFL media landscape, six analysts predict that the Cowboys will draft a wide receiver in the first round, two having the same name - Matthew Golden from Texas.

The 5’11”, 195-pound wide receiver from Austin has the potential to unlock the offense for Brian Schottenheimer and can be moved all over the offense in a variety of formations. Texas’ head coach, Steve Sarkisian, was on The Clean Pocket Podcast with Colt McCoy and discussed how Golden’s versatility was one of his biggest strengths.

Anybody watch Rocket Sanders play last year? Could he be available in the later rounds?
