The other options at RB

You think there’s holes in the OL, so you don’t think Bass, Hoffman, Richards, Charles, or Jones or that the promise Steele once showed can’t come back,?
Hoffman wasn’t bad but the rest are jags. Steele hasn’t been the same since his injury. Don’t see him returning to the form he showed before he got paid. He may not be around much longer. Part of the problem with our running game was the OL. We got dominated a number of times upfront last season. We’ve had issues with run blocking and pass protection. Our OL is not very good.

The Cowboys view Richards as a future starter and think Bass could be as well. Jones won a starting job in DC before he left.

What the OL needs is a good scheme and good coaching. Both those have been missing the last couple of years.
What the Cowboys view and what transpires remains to be seen.

Yep, Im at that stage of In Riley we trust too cuz Solari was so bad.

Sure hope there's massive improvement from this new guy.

Jebus Coog. You ever get tired of being wrong?
my insanity of being in love with mod-kingdom!! My "lack" of watching football games and coming on here and talking to you great folks about football as if I watched a game!! Thinking that PANCAKES are better than pop-tarts!!

I’ve pointed out the holes. I don’t know a lot of people that see the team the way you do.
I know just like I don’t know people you know, , but I know you’re referring to the talking heads on TV, and I have told you that I don’t give them any credit

I’m referring to the majority of fans and those who cover the team. If you don’t put an ounce of credence in the opinions of those who attend practices and get paid to cover the team and NFL then you’re not a very astute fan. Everyone has an opinion and isn’t always going to be right but you can’t just totally disregard everyone’s views and go strictly with your own line of thinking. You obviously dance to the beat of your own drum.

I can't disagree. I've asked several times in other threads, is our OL good enough? If not, the RB isn't going to matter. Ask Barkley. The Giants almost ruined his entire career.

I understand but it's the best resource you can grab unless you have a better source and if you do, please grab it and share it.

I started this thread immediately rating Judkins as my 4th rated RB in this draft just to establish how deep this RB class is.

Does not really matter at 4/5 in this draft, good talent at RB is deeper than what we have seen in quite some time, there will be some stars that shine coming from this draft class.

Wouldn't it be so nice If we were actually able to draft Judkins and we swing again at RB and were able to pair him with say.... a Cam Skattebo as well.

That combo of Rookie RBs would be a special pairing that would instantly redefine our backfield and frustrate opposing league defenses league wide for a long time.

Seeing those two in action together as rookies would go a very long way in correcting this backfield ASAP and improving this offensive design completely.
So you'd want want two bellcow pounders instead of Thunder & Lighting duo ..ala Montgomery & Gibbs pairing in Detroit ?

Me: I'm so hoping to bring that lightning splash play speed into the mix .. i saw what a 2022 Pollard did to our offense..and what a Jaymr Gibbs did to Lions run attack.

But from listening to our new HC, Seems he's more interested in a methodical bell cow pounding approach than a home run hitter ...such as the likes of Barkley, Gibbs, Henry, James Cook, De'Von Achane'

You mentioned Judkins, but i'd prefer his teammate RB Treyvon Henderson who also is already one of the more accomplish pass protector in this RB class.
A homerun speed hitter who can make plays in run & pass game and protect the RB.

And if we were to select a Henderson, ..i'd mightily try to use him exactly how the Lions use Gibbs,.. bring him off the bench, behind the lead back. carefully select his run/touch usage,
scheme him in certain pass catch sets ( not just auto-blitz block) ...

Emmitt was a 4,53 guy in college. He had a ton of long runs at Florida and with Dallas. A good RB can get HRs without being a 4.3 guy. Emmitt was always setting up his move on the second guy, not the guy in front of him….vision and natural instincts. If the RB couldn’t break long runs in college, he probably won’t in the NFL.

So there is a very high probability that Jeanty is drafted before we get on the clock and with that being said I have really been looking as closely as I can at some of the other very talented RBs in this draft, I will start with Judkins and he is being rated as the 4th RB to be taken off the board.
Take a look...

Meh. Judkins is another Zeke but with lesser intangibles. Dude is too stiff in his hips. Average speed for a RB. No breakaway running speed. Judkins also plays stiff. We already have RBs on this staff who play stiff, no speed, no breakaway speed, plus stiff hips. Hard Pass.

Yeah I like Hoffman, Bass, Steele did start playing better when Zack left, I personally think that Guyton should be moved to the RT spot, that's where he had the most snaps in college over 1100 snaps, while at TCU, when he transferred to OU they put him at LT which he only had 70 snaps. Never understood why they drafted him for the LT spot.
TJ Bass can play he has shown it but they don't want to move Tyler to LT because they like him at the LG. Honestly I believe we have a starting 5, right now, they just need to play, in my opinion of course and I could be wrong, I never mind being proven wrong,I have to see it though. Steele was always a better run blocker before he got hurt, I never really was sure he was the answer but when the RG is playing well he plays ok.
Ol was the key is the key to everything an offense wants to do, in my opinion they are the true skill positions. but yeah they were part of the problem for the run game but not committing to the run game and wasting time with Zeke was the bigger part of the run problem, again my opinion.
The other guys we know nothing about I'm going to hold off on an opinion until I see them play, Asim Richards needs playing time but first he needs to stay healthy he is always injured.

so here's the problem with what you said you nor I know the majority of of the fans, and I'm not impressed with people who get paid for a job they went to college to get a degree in journalism to become a reporter lol, nah they have no athletic ability never played, coached probably never played sport at all. I'm very astute I have never missed a Cowboys game ever since I became a fan. Yes everyone has an opinion, I respect others opinion sometimes I ask why they have that opinion and at times even try to get them to see a different side as I see something different. yes I can totally disregard others opinions, and views and go with my own I am an individual God gave us a brain and free will, the brain has the most powerful, intriguing thing God gave man, look at everything that has been invented, I am sure there were a lot of people with different views that told those inventors that there ideas and opinions was wrong.
so yes I will always go with my thoughts first, until I see different. oh yes! I definitely dance to my own drum. Here's something you may find funny about me with what you said about me, I lasted 38yrs in the Air Force dancing to my own drum.

Yes, you are correct
