is there anyone on here that root for other FBS programs from Texas? im talking about the FBS schools outside of the SEC and Big 12 like Texas State, Houston, SMU, Rice, etc.

Im a UT-San Antonio fan(most of the UTSA posting will be on the UTSA football thread).

im sure there someone on here that root. im tired about hearing or seeing anything Longhorn this, or Aggie this, Aggie that.

I throw in a Baylor thread now and then to mix it up and add variety.

14,000+ in attendance to see Rice beat FAU. doesn't most of Houston care for a former member of the SWC? is it the fact they prefer watching some other team(like Texas A&M) who was playing at the same time as the Owls? A&M is in College Station, not Houston.

I wanna bring up the topic of Bobcat football for those who live in the San Marcos area:

for over a year Texas State has been working their very best to impress fans in the San Marcos area that they are the true FBS team to support. look at them now, theyre 4-3 overall(1-2 sun belt), but still low attendance is making the program look bad. its time for San Marcos, parts of San Antonio and the surrounding areas to get hooked on Bobcat football. if Longhorn and Aggie football is all that matters, well it doesn't(unless youre an alumnus of either of those popular FBS schools). its about caring for the home team for your hometown. Texas State isn't a low level program, they are now FBS, u know what FBS means? that's high level brand of NCAA college football. I know theyre young and still learning the FBS game, but regardless of that, its about supporting the Bobcats cause theyre in the FBS level now.

It will take time, plus nobody in the Big 12 or formerly of it is endeared to Dennis Franchione, he alienated the Aggies he was supposed to be the savior of, and the Baylor Bear, Red Raider and UT Longhorn fans that found him an unsavory personality.
