The only thing I can offer in defense of the refs in regard to that call would be that perhaps THEY were shown a view that we didn't get at home. Certainly what they showed on the TV offered no "clear visual evidence" to overturn the call. Yes the ball came back into his body for an instant but form all the angles that we saw it didn't stay there very long. He never re-established control in any way. He just had one hand on it as he went down and as quickly as he got it back he lost it. Yes you can freeze a frame that maybe makes it look like he had it.. But when you watch it at speed you can see that he had it knocked loose, brought it back in for a split second, then lost it again. Hence to me that's a fumble and the call should have stood.

The fact we can see the ball out completely before his knee was down to me is proof it was a fumble. There is just no way they should claim repossession when even if there was it was a millisecond before it was lost again. Common sense is that it was never repossessed.

Clearly the RB had regained possession before he went down. The replay from the end zone (behind the RB) was the best angle. It was easy to see he had the ball when his knee hit the turf.
must have possession, control and make a football move?does this apply

The call on the field was a fumble and there was no way from the replays that they showed on TV (yes they are the same ones the refs look at) that there was enough evidence to overturn it.
