I don't understand why more teams don't follow the route to success the same way the most productive team has over the last 20 years, the Patriots! The Pats don't pay WR's & they don't pay RB's to huge, lucrative contracts! They keep those CAP dollars and spread it out over the interior line & the defense. I never liked the deal given to Zeke and letting Coop go was painful but necessary!

When you have a Brady under center you have many options.
If you don't you overpay everyone including the HB!!!

Would you want to work with an employer that lowballed you or treated you as a number?

Or you would? Because...for the team and all.

I think you leave your employer and go try and find an employer that pays you fair.

Brady wasn't the greatest of all time in his early years & neither was Biicheck the greatest coach ever back then but WINNING puts you into that category! Football is still about having a very good QB, blocking and defense! Our O-line is getting old, Dak is underperforming and God who knows where our defense is right now. These next few years will be simple, if Dak plays well, we can win, if he doesn't we're in for a long haul, no matter who we have running and catching the ball.

I agree, the NFL is a business and players should go out into the market and get what you deserve! However, given that, NFL owners & GM's can pick and chose which positions they are going to pay and which ones they will not. RB's are a dime a dozen coming out of college and it's proven that after years 3 & 4, RB's begin to decline so why in the world would you pay someone big money for diminishing skills?

Patriots were a unique situation.

HOF Coach matched up with a HOF QB that takes less money to help the team - partly because he is married to a supermodel that makes more than him.

Not going to have that perfect combo ever again

I agree that paying Zeke was a big mistake. He is amazing in my opinion...but its marginal compared to the production you can get for half the price or lower.

I watched a youtube guy explain the Cowboys cap last year...the guy compared all the important positions in the NFL and how teams pay each position...this guy basically said that the Cowboys maxed out/overpaid 1 more player than what other teams do. Which lead to him saying this is bad management by the Cowboys and hurts their ability to add depth.

Essential...for sake of an easy example...if the average team paid 6 positions large contracts...Dallas paid 7 large contracts. If that makes sense.

Im not saying the Jones boys are perfect by any means.

I guess I'm old school and remembered when we had a great OL. If/when you fix your OL, a lot of those issues will be fixed. Our defense is on the way back, but it's still early in this free agency/draft period. I'm looking forward to the draft more than anything. I'm looking for us to move in the direction of getting this OL up to snuff. We kinda know how they treat free agents. We look for "hole stuffers" so we won't "look" desperate in the draft. You'd think after 27 years of stupid that it will finally start to click in, but I don't see it. There is more knowledge on this board than there is in our FO. I'm getting tired of it.

Greatest QB and greatest HC, so they can get away with having lesser talent.

This that HC and QB combo was deadly. If Brady was on the patriots right now he probably would play til he is 50 lol

You look at the Pats player for player and the talent isn’t great. Not even close. How they did what they did this year w/ that talent pool is amazing.I hate Belicheat, but he’s the GOAT unquestionably. Why do you think Brady left?He saw talent level and said”I’m going to a loaded Tampa team.”
