The retirement of Witten creates some issues. It also creates a new opportunity for the Cowboys and a specific player.

Noah Brown.

Brown is big, he's getting bigger, he's a good blocker, and he's a pretty good receiver. He could be the ideal H-back.

As a receiver, there aren't many snaps for Brown out there, but as an H-back, he could get on the field a lot more. The Cowboys do like him.

Lining him up close to the offensive line, but not with his hand on the ground, could get him involved in the run game and also get him isolated on linebackers in the passing game.

We all know Dak likes those throws in the middle better than out wide anyway.

I look at him as part of the tight end corps now. This keeps him on the roster with the new receivers on board.

Good perspective. Could be very true how Jerry and Linehan value him.

Totally agree. Been saying for some time that he’s about 20 pounds short of being a TE

Fans have been screaming for more speed at the TE position and he would add a bit more. I'd like to see how his blocking is.

His blocking is excellent at receiver. That is why Zeke begged Dallas to sign him because of their time at Ohio State.

I'm not sure he can play actual tight end, but you can play him upright tight to the line, and he can seal the edge for you.

that would throw off a lot of defenses, with the protection we have now , we should really get more creative on the offense side of the ball. I believe us letting Dez go was a big reason for that, he had a limited route tree.

Yeah, his blocking is fantastic. He made a ton of big blocks last year.

Jamiaze n Rod Smith could perform H-Back duties, too. But, don't think they'll (coaches)do much w/ an HB.

Ya, I see what you're saying. If he can take on some bigger bodies, that could really be an advantage to out of PA out of that package and hit him the middle of the field.

I like it, but the Cowboys still seem enamored with the fullback position.

This doesn't preclude is from fullbacks. Just another effective package.

How about two wide, an H-back, and a fullback with no tight end?

Great solution. Another reciever for those 5 yard passes.

I'm only interested in fullbacks if they're capable of catching or carrying the ball on occasion. The glorified pulling guard is an antiquated concept in today's game.

Olawale can do that. He can also outrun Jaylon Smith if you recall.

Great as a receiver when blocking dbs, but can he handle DLs or LBs?
No. And he won't be. Brown is 6'2 220. He'd have to add 30lbs to just even barely compete.

If anything, he has hopefully dropped 5 or 10 lbs and gotten quicker. If so, he could easily replace Williams.
