The Pet Cat Thread

Claiborne, kirkpatrick,Jenkins, minnifield, dennard, hosley are all projected to go before him. Unless he runs a crazy 40 he will be the 7th or 8th cb taken. I think we would have a chance of him dropping. Although i wouldnt mind taking him in the 2nd.

All of those + you forgot Gilmore will be sure to go ahead of him baring a miracle combine performance and or blunder. And if you trust Mayock Leonard Johnson is also ahead of Boykin. Thats 8 right there with the possibility of Casey Heyward or Tru Johnson going in the 3rd as well. That makes 11 CB's with 3rd round grades or better. Its really an incredibly deep CB draft class and there will be very good value in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounds depending on when we decide to draft 1.

Jake Bequette with Jerry Jones. Sign of things to come?

Bequette was on all my earlier mocks but the kid is rocketing up the draft board. Still a favorite but too many know about him now.

I don't think he'll go before mid third round.

Sammy Brown OLB/Houston

The kid is a disruptive pass rusher who had 56 tackles, 30 tackles for loss, and 13.5 sacks in 2011, and most of that on a bad ankle. I could see him playing outside or inside in a 3-4.

Nice! Brown is all over the field, reminiscent of James Harrison. Another guy is Louisville LB Dexter Heyman (6'3 240 4.5). 80+ TKL, 15.5 TFL & 3 INTs. Could be a low risk back up at ILB.

I personally love Bequette

but he is slow as dirt

in the forty

now can't wait to see his ten yard time

you cuold play him as DE

for whats it worth

For the season, he has 25 tackles with 8.5 tackles for a loss, eight sacks and four forced fumbles. Bequette was producing well late in the regular season but was held in check by LSU.

And he did all that in 2011 with a bad hammy. Bequette will time faster than Spencer did. Has timed in the 4.6 and 4.5's. Bequette has very good straight line speed but not agile.

May be better off adding weight and playing DE, but has looked pretty good in LB drills.

3rd is where he is projected now. Earlier he was a 5th-6th rounder. If he runs a 4.5, he will jump into the first day.

He's not going in the first round.. no way.

I think he meant first day( as in 1-3). He probably just forgot that the draft is split up into 3 days now.

I absolutely hate the way the draft is spaced out now. Hate it.

I like the shortened pick time.

Other than that, I don't care to see the primetime aspect.

I'd like to see rounds 1-2 together again.

Waiting for a long time only to see your team trade down would suck. Of course, it beats the hell out of being a Commanders fan and knowing you only have a couple of picks to look forward to from the start.

I have two:

DE Billy Winn from Boise St. Tough kid who gives great effort.

WR B.J. Cunningham from Michigan St. Not a great 40 time, but makes plays. Another tough, strong kid.

I'm really only interested in interior linemen and CBs.

DeCastro
Brockers
Poe

And any and every CB (whatever it takes to ensure that Alan Ball never suits up for this team again)

Outside of that, I'd be interested in looking at a slot WR like Devon Wylie.

This is a Pet Cat thread, not who do you think the Cowboys should draft in teh 1st round. ;)

Well, I guess I did not understand what constitutes a "Pet Cat." So I just posted the players I like.

If "Pet Cat" means late round draft pick who you really like, then Devon Wylie, like I said.

Brandon Boykins CB/KR/PR, UGA

I live in GA, and I'm a big UGA fan. We havnt drafted many SEC players lately, and I wish we would start adding some talent from there. Boykin fills a bunch of holes as he is a playmaker with the ball in his hand, and has serious return skills. He could be a 3rd CB if needed, but I'd rather him be the 4th CB for a few years and then move into the Nickel role. It'd be nice to have a CB who can get his hands on the ball and then take it to the house. Plus he is a 2nd, but most likely going in the 3rd.
this and throw Ingram in as a close second

I read somewhere that his perceived lack of effort is just about the only thing holding him back right now.

I'd have to find it but pretty sure it was talking about him.

I'm just giving you a hard time. :laugh2:
