Where was this great "Steel" franchise? Looked like plastic to me. Bend don't break type team.

Where was the great Polomauloloamaoulumula? Or the great all world Harrison who is so much nastier than Ware? Or Mendenhall the all-pro rb that will make us cry when we hear name Felix for the next 50 years? Where was the great "in the trenches" franchise that the Cowboys should live every day aspiring to be? I know where there great QB was. Right where he's always been. Hidden Amongst great plays followed by bad not so good ones.

I guess they Aren't the greatest franchise in the world huh? They should have been beat by 30 today. I guess you can't always play the cardinals and seahawks in the SB.

Pittsburgh Plastics have replaced the Steelers just like Plastic had replaced steel.......

Greenbay played Big Ben perfect they spied Matthews so he could not step up in the pocket and run free this forced him to make throws and plays with his arm and not extending his play and making a big pass. he rimnds me of Mcnabb but with a better team.

To bad GB drop a couple balls because that Jones drop was a td all the way

Sometimes good teams lose. Especially when they are playing another good team.

Probably shouldnt be talking trash at this point. Right now that franchise is run so much more professionally than ours it isnt even worth discussing.

I dont know about that. I just don't see it. They have been the right team at the right place so many times and tonight it wasn't there. So many want to crown them as this "great franchise" who has all the answers. I see a team that has been very very fortunate to win 1 SB much less 2. They just finally actually played a good team in a SB.

I about liked on my iPhone reading all these guys kiss the *** of the steelers here for two weeks. I even had to read a post about Jerry being dumb and the steelers being a great franchise cause they drafted Mendenhall over Felix. Well folks the flavour of the week ain't steel anymore. It's now cheese. So quit slobbering over the Pittsburgh Plastics cause they ain't great and never were. They are Plastic in every sense. Bend don't break, recycle, recycle, recycle and now you can put a lid on this Tupperware bowl cause they are yesterdays leftovers!!!!!

Anytime you win a SB there is some amount of luck involved, whether that be fortuitous bounces, lack of injuries, catching teams at the right time, etc. The Rooney's know how to win and do so in a professional manner. They have had multiple runs of greatness over the course of the last four decades. Jerry Jones won for a few years with Jimmy Johnson's foundation and hasnt done anything since. He is all about the flash, the style, the big signing, etc. The Rooney's are about winning. Pretty, ugly, it doesnt matter.

Dude, I hate the steelers with the best of them, but they have some things that I completely envy. 1) Polumalu is arguably a 1st ballot HOF Safety at his rate of play. He is a complete difference maker. Instinct up the ying yang. 2) Tomlin excudes and expects confidence. No nonsense, no bs, my way or the highway attitude. (now happy we have JG) 3) They didn't take RMover Felix, WE GAVE THEM AN EVERY DOWN RB because we wanted a complimentary back. I'm not saying RM is great, but instead of being cute, just take the best player available.

Or maybe they just put out good teams not great teams and they finLly got some breaks. The FA era ending did more to help the steelers than any franchise. Their good teams with good players could now not only compete year in and out but also compete for championships. Those steeled teams of the 90's were good teams but not great. Same as this run of steelers out there now. Good but not great.

Hey if you want good then go root for the steelers. Cause you'll have some good teams. But if you want to pull for a great team, just watch what that team in Dallas is trying to build. They are trying to build greatness. Not goodness.

Say what you want about Jerry and the job he does but you can't take away from the fact that he is trying to build greatness. Not goodness. We want great teams that are true dynasties. That's what we are. It might be boo
Or bust but the Boom = domination and greatness.

I'd take good for 6 years with 2 superbowl wins and a loss over Greatness for 16 years with 1 playoff win if I had to choose which path I wanted Dallas to take..

Steelers are a fantastic team, so are the Packers. Steelers gave them 3 uncharacteristic turnovers, and still had a chance to win in the last 2 minutes.

I hate the Steelers more than any team in the league, but you're just being a blatant homer.

This used to be true, but it is not true anymore.

Their QB is a serial rapist, one of their best defensive players is a steriods user and a woman basher.

They have had 9 arrests since 2007.

But the media and the NFL love them so it is not broadcast over ESPN 24 hours a day.

This is not your fathers Steelers.

They have had multiple runs of greatness over the course of the last four decades.

They have hit a hot streak lately, but they went 26 years without a Super Bowl win.

I have a ton of respect for Mike Tomlin. That guy carries himself and his team the right way. I see a little of Tomlin in Jason Garrett. Makes me hopeful for the future.

Spot on! And the Stealers of the 70's ushered in steroid use. The OL were juicing and some died prematurely due to the juice. And don't forget the referee gift-wrapped victory against the Seahawks.

Thank you for actualy for posting facts. This guys knows what most don't see. It takes a lazy perspective to see the steelers and envy them the way they have been lately. If it was Dallas that had all the run INS win the law we'd never here the end of it.

I'm glad they blasted RothlisRaper yesterday with all the sexual assault stuff. He needs and America needs to here about it. These steelers like I said are good but not great.

He made a comment yesterday that really stuck with me. Don't remember it word for word but it was along the lines of his players play with so much emotion. Football being a very emotional sport and he didn't need to bring more emotions to that. They need someone to channel their emotions and be level headed when emotionally they cannot.

This is a great ingredient to being a great HC. Even Jimmy was very even keeled on game day.

Ok would you take 3 SB wins over the last 20 years vs a team that has 2 and has lost 2 more in that same time span. Would you rather have the team that won 3 of 4 SB's in 4 years and dominated the nfl or the team that barely beat the 9-7 teams they played and lost to the two good teams?

I'll take that team they will always be remembered for being Great vs the teams that were Good all day long.
