I wanted to post a thread with some positives about some young players for a change. Even as bad as this season has been, there have been some good things, even if there haven’t been many.

So here are some positives I’ve seen from players in the 2024 season so far in no particular order.
  • Brandon Aubrey continues to be one of the best, most accurate kickers in the NFL. It’s not an exaggeration to say he is the best, most consistent player on this team.
  • DeMarvion Overshown has been a star in the making in what has essentially been a rookie season because he missed all of last year with that knee injury. He has 84 tackles, 5 sacks, 8 TFL, and a pick 6. The sky is the limit for this kid.
  • Rico Dowdle has shown he is a capable NFL running back. IMO, he needs to be paired with another back who has breakaway potential but we will have to wait and hope this hapless FO drafts a RB to pair with Rico next year.
  • Micah Parsons - although he missed multiple games with a high ankle sprain, his recent return to the lineup has reminded us that he remains one of the most disruptive defensive players in the league. Paired with Overshown, we have some hope to build around on D.
  • Deron Bland has missed 10 games this season but his recent return shows his value by how often QBs refuse to throw his way. IMO he’s way better than Trevon Diggs. If Bland can stay healthy, he‘s our 2nd or 3rd best defensive player.
  • Cooper Beebe. I hesitated to list CB here. Although he has not been great, he has shown flashes of potential to be great. This being his first year to ever play C, he has done well at times, just not consistently. But he has a bright future at C or G depending on who we draft next year, thinking we need more help at OL.
So what are some other player positives? Anyone else I left off?

GOOD LIST-

Beebee he's had a great year to go from never playing the position to only having a couple of bad moments I mean I only remember 1 bad game with the bad snaps but I think the grass had something to do with the kickers both long snapper and snapper were having a problem with the grass being long and I don't know if it was damp but there was something going on in that Washington game due to the turf I mean you look at Turpin slipping falling to debit flying up in the air the field was in bad shape.. But he should be on the list I haven't seen anything that concerns me about him he's been consistently solid in his worst game was in Washington as far as snaps go but he's actually been playing really well in my opinion..

Turpin- he's our best special teams player he's our fastest player on the team and he's been misused by our offensive coordinator and head coach but that's not his fault to me he's an important part of this team he should have been the number three wide receiver no matter what stop being used as just a gadget behind the line of scrimmage type player in space and use as a wide receiver more I think he had a lot more to give and he's not getting his flowers because of our offense our offensive coordinator etc...

Hoffman/Bass- much like Rico not used very often but every time I've seen them in the last couple of seasons either they're playing together on the field or separately used in spot duty I know and we need to see more of it they both in my opinion could start on this team whether they're Pro Bowl level or not they could be solid NFL starting offensive i mean and keep us from having to reach in this draft...

Yeah, good call on Turpin. I should have included him. He’s a real weapon in everyone’s eyes except our HC, lol!

I think a few of the back up CB's have shown some promise.
Too bad they too are injured.

Butler and Oruwariye and for a few games, Carson.
TE Spann-Ford

There have been positives from many unheralded players this year. Hoffman, Schoon, Butler, Kneeland, Bass, Wheat, Thomas and even guys like Golston, Luepke, Hendricks, Tolbert, Oruwariye and Lawson making some plays.

No! He had little or no confidence left before his injury. Blame the league, they went after him and it worked (lol).

Kneeland could be a strong pass rush piece this game if he plays.

INC TBD on all those guys you gotta have two small sample size we need more proof that all them got hurt I mean Carson got a lot of work man, you can't really be putting his name in there but those other two corners yes they deserve a little flowers but you can't put them on this list yet because they haven't played enough games you have to see them against all types of teams like the players are covering the moments in those games you gotta see a lot more of it but yes they may be on that list soon...

Rico has become the working runner...not part of group. A current plus.

Brock Hoffman filled in for Martin last week and was actually decent.
Actually, him and bass actually filled in more than that they filled in last year in two games they filled in more than one game this year and both of them have looked very good not decent they're not just decent no Terence steel can be decent at times these dudes were playing very well they're being thrust onto that line and we start winning games again our run games all of a sudden comes back into play that's not a coincidence..

Yes we all saw it the Pittsburgh game should've been the game that he became the number one guy on the team that got the bulk of the carries unless he was needing to be rested or if he was injured it didn't happen!!

that's on the head coach, I mean the offensive coordinator , oh wait they're both the same guy,

we're over here blaming Jerry Jones for not bringing in the players which a lot of that is true but all the while our run game didn't need to have another guy off the street brought in he's every bit as good has at least 16 other runners when you look at what he's doing as far as breaking tackles, his yards per carry, pass catcher, he's actually a pretty good player.. that two years in a row have been misused in my opinion ..

everything I saw last year ,that they tried to make Tony be the next starter here, I think Rico should have got all those carries last year and Tony should have been the same player he's always been and yes he should have got almost the same amount of carries but in the different situations that used his speed , but right now to me Rico it's not much of a different player than Tony Pollard... When you watch Tony play he is not the player we lost that we should have kept you know there's no regret go look at a lot of his games he's had maybe one or two good games with the Titans but really been very average outside of that the man's making way too much money but the way Rico don't make that much money he's in my opinion that guy we need a speed guy like gives to go with him you know just like Bob said that would be nice to keep a guy like Rico or in my opinion if we lose him we lose him...

My plan would be this is a very deep draft with running backs you get a really good one in the first 3 rounds and then you pick up another one around the fifth round and you get 2 young running backs in here and go let them do it figure out which one of them is the best and then you feed them but I don't trust Mike McCarthy so hopefully he's actually gone because all these rumors now first it's Prescott now it's Parsons they're all actually getting in Jerry's ear about keeping McCarthy if McCarthy stays here he needs to be only the head coach and we need a new offensive staff...

Great list. I have a couple more:

-Josh Butler: Looked like another steal from the spring league joining Aubrey and Turpin. If his knee is good next year he could be the 3rd corner if Lewis isn't brought back.

-Brevyn Spann-Ford: Might be the best blocking TE on the roster and at nearly 6'7, needs to be targeted in the red zone more.

But they are still positives, no matter how little of a sample at this point.

Not Carson ,I'm sorry , the guy lost all credibility started out looking good in camp had a good play here and there completely sharded his pants my man I mean he didn't look good at all he got was burned to a crisp the man's nickname was toast before he got hurt thank God for the other two dudes the one I can't pronounce his name playing pretty well he's back on the roster this week in Butler but still too small a sample size to save whether we can put him in that group but Carson if you if you wanna concede something it's gotta be Carson...
