They would HAVE to give the JAGs some sort of advantage. Scheduling 8 away games overseas would be tiresome on players.

Good luck getting into a bidding war for free agents. Not many players will move their families out of the USA for the same amount of money as staying in Texas,Cali, NY,FLA etc.
I think that speaks a great deal to the crux of the problem. In order to make things fair, you would have to give them some sort of advantage. But then what happens if, by some miracle, they became *too* good? I can't imagine the fans of the American team that lost the CCG or Super Bowl to a London team would appreciate the subtleties of their systemic advantage.

Also, is it just me, or would they have to move the Super Bowl earlier in the day? Doesn't it end at, like, 3 in the morning over there?

Closer to four most years. The black out game was a looong night.

U. of Hawaii have been playing football for decades with similar travel distances to a possible London team. Travel wont be a problem.

I don't think the London Jags will need any 'advantages' to make it work. And the 2nd bye week, which has been discussed a lot recently and Thursday night games will make the schedule logistics a lot easier.

Light years of difference between a college team playing mediocre football in a mediocre conference to professional athletes completing at the highest levels.

There's a reason why every single team gets the bye week after their London trip.

No free agent is going to want to go to London over an American team if all else is equal. London will have to overspend - dramatically - to bring talent in.

Not even close. How many games is Hawaii on the east coast? (Not many) Now imagine doing that 8 times a year but not just traveling to the east coast. West coast games are a 7 hr time difference from London.

Remember the old WLAF? This type if travel is nothing new. Yes, it may be that there will be multiple teams in Europe to make it easier.

On attracting Free Agents - dont you think London is a lot more attractive than Green Bay, Detroit, Philadelphia and a few other NFL locations?

If you cannot see why it would be a problem then there is no need to continue the conversation. Start with Taxes and then go on to living in another country and culture and work from there.

Earnings from sport are tax free in some European countries.

For a free agent with friends and family? Uh, no. Moving 5,000 miles away is not even remotely as attractive as any of those cities you mention.

The sport isn't going to remain USA-centric forever. Globalisation is upon us.
