Are we all kind of ignoring how realistic this actually is?

I’m trying to not get my hopes up but even if Hurts plays there is no guarantee he can even move the offense with a banged up shoulder.

The Giants are a better team than the Saints so if Minshew plays again then I fully expect NYG to win that game.

Dallas needs this and having home field and rested players is everything.

Heck I wouldn’t mind if they reschedule Buffalo and Cincy and delay the playoffs by a week but I doubt they’d do that with so many people already making playoff travel plans.

This morning I saw ESPN Analytics said there is only a 2% chance of it happening.

The Cowboys lost any real chance of getting the #1 seed by not showing up week one and losing the OT games at GB and JAX.

In other words, it's their own fault.

If someone want to say Philly should be favored, I agree but it would not shock me one bit if NY wins this game.

They were just talking about this on NFLN, as to playing that game next week, moving everything back a week. And eliminating the extra week with the SB.

Now is that not fair to certain teams, as some fans will not be happy or will be happy either way. The team with the bye not has another week off. Is that a disadvantage then. As teams without byes get a week rest.

Also they said is the cancel the game, they will base the AFC seeding from W / L %
Therefore regardless of the outcome of the Ravens - Bengals game, the Bengals win the AFCN, therefore Ravens fans will not be happy.
And if KC beats LV Sunday, they then get HFA, as if Buffalo were to win the last 2 games, they would have HFA, but if the game is cancelled, they do not.

Many implications going on right now.

I have every finger and toe crossed because for some stupid reason back in August I placed a wager on us winning the division. And then week one happened and was ready to throw in the towel like everyone else. Now you are saying there is a chance??? My bank account and I hope you are right. (550-1)

Niners have to lose also.

I'm with the OP, but I think whats more realistic is the 2 seed. SF losing seems like a stretch, but I wouldnt downplay the benefit of having the 2 seed over the 5 seed either.

There's a much better chance of us winning the division than getting the 1 seed. Just don't see San Francisco losing to Arizona.

Are you kind of ignoring that there's no way in Hades that SF loses to Arizona?

I still want to win the division, and at least we can get the #2 seed. Meaning a home playoff game, and if we with, we get a 2nd home game.
We would play, Detroit, Seattle or GB at home. I prefer it be Seattle. We all know the deal with GB, and Detroit could be a dangerous team to play.

However stranger things have happened.
1993, Dallas was in flight to Arizona. SF needed a win to get HFA. I forget who they were playing, but it was a game they should have easily won.
Well they lost, and as word got to the flight, the Cowboys team perked up and cheered, and went on to beat the Cardinals to secure HFA.

It's certainly a possibility but the fact the 49ers and Eagles both have to lose makes this challenging. I think I like the Eagles chances of losing better than the 49ers. However, the fact the Giants have nothing to play for also creates an interesting dilemma for them.

Regardless fully resting our starters if there's a chance at a #1 or #2 seed just doesn't make much sense.

The Giants will play starters a series or two and sit them.

Just me, I can see the Giants starters only playing a half......
Either way, it appears we will likely face Rogers ( #2 ) or Brady (#5) seed

To be honest, Rogers scares the heck out of me ( even at home ), especially with how our secondary is playing

I think we are going to Tampa and that is a good thing, this team need to exorcize its demons, they need to get on the big stage and play 48 minutes and beat the team across them.

The Tampa Buccs and the old man is just what the doctor ordered for the young Cowboys to finally grow into a championship team, play with the big boys and start a run.

Not always. The Buccaneers threw a BUNCH of games away this year. Lost to crappy teams with uneven play and wound up with a .500 record. They still get a home playoff game AND rest.
Yep, you are right.
But we are paying the piper
