The price for Dallas Cowboys star defender is only getting higher

What I say is based through decades of team play and verifiable records. You are someone that thinks using psudo-flowery language makes you seem intelligent, without realizing that the majority of posters here consider you a joke. Spare me your bullcrap.
What's Up: Replacing Martin is certainly going to be a task and for now, it looks as if it's the only one of the three interior positions with a question mark. At left guard, Tyler Smith has become one of the NFL's best guard – earning two straight Pro Bowl selections. The next question for him will be "how much" the Cowboys pay him as he is now eligible for a new contract and Smith will likely be one of the next players on the roster to get an extension.

At center, Cooper Beebe is coming off a solid rookie season and from the sounds of things, Schottenheimer and the coaching staff are looking to keep him at center and build off of last year's success. So that leaves right guard up in the air. Jones, Charles and the combination of players such as Brock Hoffman and T.J. Bass will all get the chance to compete for the job.

Now tell us all who will start at right tackle for the offense. No Jerry lies...

You are now looking at things the way someone should that has an interest in fielding a solid team. I have said much of the same in a number of my posts. I said that Smith and Beebe can be the core of a very good o-line if they can figure out the other positions. We both have a question about right tackle, and I have no idea who will start there. Right now, it is Steele's job to lose. But if he can't pass protect any better than he has in the past, Dak will have pressure from his right side all year. I do believe someone from the players you listed will be our RG, draft notwithstanding. The big question, and I know you have seen both sides of this argument, is whether or not to move Smith to LT if Guyton continues to struggle. There are pluses and minuses to both, but I think almost everyone in Cowboy nation hopes for Guyton to take the next step and make that position his. The problem here is if Guyton can't pass protect at an average level or better, Dak better have his head on a swivel because the better d-lines are going to make life rough for him. It is entirely possible that out of sheer necessity, Smith may have to play LT, especially if we find players that can play both guard positions. If we can't, I am waiting to see how our coaching staff handles the o-line.

No Jerry lies here. He is the biggest part of the problem

I could take Smith back at left tackle and Guyton at right tackle...that view has merit.

Blaming Jerry every season is cowardly and forgets having a real ride to the NFC Championship in 2016 when the Cowboys were cheated in Green Bay by the referee. The Dallas team earned a game in the Championship. Hairy Jerry my rear end.

Micah Parsons was eligible for a contract extension last offseason, but he and the Dallas Cowboys couldn’t come to an agreement, and Parsons sat back and did not draw much attention. We saw them get the deals done with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, waiting until the last possible moment to do so, in turn made them pay way to much for Dak, and probably more than they wanted to for Lamb at the time.

Here we go again with the front office of the Dallas Cowboys waiting forever to pay Micah. and doing so made his price even higher. Myles Garrett signed on Sunday with the Cleveland Browns, the biggest non-QB money in the history of the league. Only problem for Dallas: The highest-paid defensive end dollar figure has risen substantially in the last calendar year. Last summer, San Francisco’s Nick Bosa earned $34 million per year. Maybe the Cowboys could’ve signed Parsons for a few million more. Now, Maxx Crosby reset the market last week before Garrett leapfrogged him. Garrett’s deal is expected to pay him $40 million per year, and it has a record $123.5 million guaranteed.

The way this front office operates is so frustrating. Time and time again, they cost themselves money, and they seem not to even care, yet they won’t get deals done and sign outside free agents at other needy spots. This is typical Jones. He allows other players to set the market and drive the value up for his players. Therefore, Jones has to pay more money, which detracts from the salary cap for other players. Not did they let the price for their best defender go through the roof, they cleared all that cap space and can’t even resign any of their other guys that have been homegrown. The Cowboys lost Jourdan Lewis and Chauncey Golston, two big-time players, for the defense a year ago, and they have only signed former Jets DT Solomon Thomas has agreed to a two-year deal worth up to $8M.

This falls back on Stephen. Man, this falls back on your team. You are guarding team money instead of just using the cap funds to allow the coaching staff to maximize their team play. Your staff and coaches are keeping up with need and damn sure on the best for the Cowboys.

They are on top of their jobs.

That cap is not the franchises income. It is your team's life line. Your stars are the roster's live line. Don't dramatize spending, build one's team as strong as it can be. This is sports not protection of Holywood.

This signing is important to this team. Get it done...do YOUR job. Don't bast in the drama. Fix the damn team. If you need drama, take the family to a movie.

Your dragging feet cost that team two good players already!

GO COWBOYS!
Jerry likes it getting higher, he thinks it proves he is not cheap.

Sometimes one just wants a human who is loyal and roots for his team, not Vegas odds. Beat the hell out of both the Eagles and Washington. :starspin:

I am loyal. I am rooting for us to have a winning record.
An interesting positional group right now are the safeties. Six safeties have been given 2-3 year contracts and even the starting pair are returning. This safety group should be stabilizing in the defensive scheme.

Jalon Walker to this fan, would be worth adding a next year's pick to move up to #8 and secure. This might push the need for a strong free agent WR. But allow the remainder of the draft to progress.

Two high dollar attackers in the defensive line would upgrade a ton on that side of ball.
