The Price is NOT right

IMO signing Peerless Price would be a huge mistake. Sets a bad precendent. 1st off, you KNOW Keyshawn and Glenn are going to be the starters this year. More importantly all Patrick Crayton has done was GO OUT AN EARN the 3rd slot this year. He earned it by working his tail off. Signing Price would be a huge slap in the face to the kid. It tells him that hard work, winning an open competition, is rewarded by signing another guy to take your spot. BAD BAD MOVE. Price isnt coming here to be a 4th reciever. He's not going from number one in Atlanta to 4 in Dallas....NO WAY. Besides, in no way am I convinced he would be an upgrade over Crayton at all, in fact in the long run I think Crayton buries him too. Now Peter Warrick is a different story. Him you probably could plug in at the 4 spot. Could also be used on S.T, returning kicks, punts.....

If Price comes cheap the Cowboys will sign him. He is no position to come in and replace Crayton by any means and he knows this. He doesn't know the offense and he's just looking for a fresh start somewhere. He can be a #4 for now, he's better than Morgan, Copper and Crowder.

I say we take the chance.

How would bringing in Warrick be any different? Love Crayton too, but somebody better then who ever ends up as the 4th reciever isn't going to hurt. I'd love to have either one of them for the right price. Bet your money the fecals end up with one of them.

Warrick won't be a 4 here when he can be a 2 in Seattle or Philadelphia

Good thought.

This would be a great signing for the Eagles.

We already have numerous Price threads open. Feel free to join in rather than start up a new one.

Bringing in Peerless simply means Crayton has to work harder. Why is that a bad thing???

Sometimes you guys sound like mothers. "Oh, Crayton worked hard, so he deserves the #3 spot." I say BS!!!

If we can upgrade, why not upgrade? If Crayton wants to keep the #3 spot, then he's gonna have to outplay Price.

What's wrong with that???

I would take a flyer out on Price...only if the "PRICE" is right!!! If not wave bye bye to the guy.

That goes without saying. No one wants to overpay for an underachieving WR who's best years were 2 years ago.

Oops ... I said that too quickly, considering we OVERPAID for an underachieving DE last year who's best years were 2 years prior.

You may like Crayton, he may have EARNED the #3 spot, but ask yourself this: Who are you more comfortable with when Glenn gets hurt? Who do you want trotting onto the field for 75% of offensive plays during the regular season? Crayton or Price? The answer is obvious to me. Crayton might make a good #3 reciever, or he might not. We know Price would be a good #3 at least. Sign 'em up, and let Crayton and Price split duties, and spot start Price if needed. Everybody wins.

If Price will agree to terms with us, I see him being signed as an insurance policy more than anything else. While I would like to see both Key and Glenn make it through the year healthy, I just don't think it will happen. If one of them goes down, we'll be glad to have Price's experience on the roster. I realize that Price may have some question marks about his durability, etc., however, should one of the WRs ahead of him go down with injury, then I think we will be glad we signed Price and the experience he brings, as compared to one of our current young, inexperienced WRs. Of course this is all contingent upon his asking price, too.

Why not he started in Buffalo and had very good season there which is why Atlanta made the trade. Not prices fault that Atlanta has a running back at QB who can't get the ball there on time for his WR. It will become obvious once we start seeing the current group of WR in Atlanta not getting the ball either. There comes a time when you stop blaming WR and put it on the back of the QB whose job should be getting the ball to them and not running the ball like some damn running back.

I don't know how anybody could say this with any certainty.

Personally, I think he would start in Philly. As for Seattle, I think there top three are Darrell Jackson, Bobby Engram and Joe Jarravicious. I don't see why Price wouldn't have an excellent chance to start there as well.

Well if Pinkston and Mitchell couldn't close that gap, I doubt Price will.

So, another words, you base these assumptions on no credible evidence what so ever?
