This is still hilarious .I guess if you guys owned a business you would just hand your checkbook blank nothing on it a contract unsigned for the agent and employee to just put whatever numbers they want in there???!!!As the Cowboys front office drags the Micah Parsons contract negotiations on in their usual wasteful manner, I am reminded of what a great FO would be doing now.
Not only would they already have signed Parsons to free up more cap space to sign other impactful players; they should also start negotiations to extend a new contract for the next best player on this roster: TYLER SMITH.
Why sign Smith now? He has another year on his rookie deal. Here are the reasons:
Tyler Smith is the second most talented player on this team. Get him extended now. It makes sense. Which is why it probably won’t happen here.
- By extending him now, they can lock up TS at 2025 prices, saving future money and cap space. What Smith is worth now will be way cheaper than next year.
- Smith is 23. Locking him up now ensures he’s here for the duration of his best years.
- Smith and his agent (like most NFL players and agents) usually like early contract extensions because it protects and guarantees the player a good payday before a potential injury could end a career.
- Finally - if the Cowboys wait again, it will not only cost more, but further hamstring their cap flexibility in the future.

you're saying that you know the front office is at fault, even though the agent and apparently the player are holding this up?

Jerry doesn't want to pay more, he's not waiting to pay more, this problem is 3 parts there are three responsible parties that are all holding this up and yet the headlines say that front office is dragging it out...
I Realize they can be easy targets and deserve some of the criticism they get but when it comes to contract negotiations none of you have a clue on one had to deal with that type of contract and two what's going on behind the scenes you can only make an assumption and I'm sorry they would have loved to pay less for a lot of these players but those players agents weren't having it the players are just gonna sit back a lot of their agent to get as much money as possible but whatever language that benefits the player only and there's not a lot of compromise up front...
that's seriously Being out of touch with realitym, it's funny that Osa's got done really fast, his was actually good for both sides,
it's funny how that works, right?? the irony is all the contracts that you don't list that they got done in a timely manner or got ahead of and they did the contracts with no problems but some of these players who are looking to be the highest paid player that's not a quarterback in the NFL, HOLD thing's up because they're asking for too much, they're not negotiating with compromise, and you all keep blaming the front office and I want to see the proof where's the proof how about you say contract negotiations are going slow? without trying to put the blame on the front office for once? I know you don't like the front office but until you get your own $10 billion team you might want to step out of your shoes and step in theirs because you're not behind scenes knowing the actual facts of why these contracts take too long.
it's no different than then last year, there were literally other wide receivers like Brandon aiuke and Jefferson that were holding up negotiations threatening holdouts that's just to name a few and also jamar chase T Higgins was on his first franchise tag and then they go around and put him on another franchise tag and this year up until recently both of them still were unsigned.. It's a well known fact that lamb and his agents were purposely waiting for some of them names to sign because they wanted more they wanted to be last but jamar chase had the last laugh because he was last and he got more money it wasn't much more but now they have two very very highly paid wide receivers over there in cincy and a highly paid quarterback but it's only proof that this stuff doesn't always get done quick...
it takes awhile sometimes, but blaming the front office because you hate them it's just not going to work for me,
because I see it from all sides this is being held up by all three parties. And the story there is no proof this is on the front office but you can keep putting it out there...
but again, when you get your $10 billion team you can do contracts how you feel ,and then we can actually criticize you unknowingly and unwittingly because they can't even defend themselves here.
