The problem and solution how to fix America's Team!

There are plenty of fingers to point within this organization .

Lets start with the coaching .

One of the biggest problems with this team over the last few years has been discipline .

From the false starts , holding , off sides , etc .
We are constantly shooting ourselves in the foot .
Also terrible clock management , game management , off. playcalling , etc.
POOR tackling year after year which leads me to my next point !

Physicality !
This team for years has severely lacked tough physical players .
Especially on defense .
We are so weak at the point of attack and terrible at disengaging off blocks .
We have no attitude at all from Ware right down the line .

Offensive and defensive lines .
I think we have beat this to death .
nuff said

Drafting
All i can do is shake my head at all the draft picks we have wasted , at some point we have to find better talent evaluation .


The solutions

New head coach .
Bill Cowher , John Gruden are tough hard nosed football coaches who i would love to take a look at for starters .

Id even keep an open mind to Chip Kelly as i wouldnt be against an innovative mind to try and resurrect this offense .

As far as O-coordinator not much out there hopefully with chucky he would take control of that .

D-coordinator
Im ok with Rob he hasnt had a lot to work with to be honest .
I DONT like his prevent D from the very few times we were leading late in games but i understand why .

Drafting
Now this is the biggest area we MUST improve in !
Stop worrying about flashy players
We need to start drafting tough, physical , smart players .
An identity on both sides of the ball would be nice .
We have to be able to run the ball on offense .
Rush the passer on Defense
Address the O and D lines

Free agency - Byrd from Buffalo is a must

Obviously we have plenty of holes but not alot of cap room but a very good safety is something we have needed for years .

Cuts/trades

Honestly i wouldnt mind gutting this team
The only players i would definately try to keep would be = Ware witten spencer mo carr church murray tyron dez lee harris and romo (assuming nobody wants to give up a boatload of picks)

The rest of this team to me is a waste of space .

If any team wants to trade us picks for austin or any other inconsistent leftovers have at it !

Sorry for the long post but ive followed this team for years and it kills me to see the acceptance of mediocrity .

Jerry is right we need BIG CHANGES but it has to start with HIM !

Now is not the time to bring in a new HC. We made progress this season which was masked by more injured starters than any winning team had and a tougher schedule.

The novice/impatient/ill informed fan fails to see this.

What is a "flashy player"? I hear/read this same comment over and over as some sort of dig against the FO, but I don't understand it. No offense, but I'm not sure those who say it do either.

It's been demonstrated that the number of flags a team draws in a given game is correlated far better with the identity of the officiating crew than with the team's penalty history. We're always near the top because the "best" crews throw the most flags and get the primetime and national games that we are always in because we are the Cowboys, not because we are especially undisciplined.

I see what you did there.

The Cowboys haven't done anything flashy in a while unless you think moving up to draft Bryant and Claiborn were flashy moves. I just think they were trying to improve the team, not make a splash. If they had drafted in the trenches, some would be complaining about how they let Dez get away.

Cowboys made massive improvements on false starts as the season went on. I think the oline had the second least offsides in the NFL even with the use of the 24 second clock on almost every snap.

Then there's the obvious thing that a coach like Cowher or Gruden would never coach here without more control. So that spoils the reality of this immediately.

The only thing that's going to fix America's team is a proven head coach who's given the control to do things their way not Jerry's way. The only reason Jerry has been part of 3 championships is because he brought in a proven head coach and allowed him to do his job. He gave Jimmy total control of all personnel. Once Jimmy left it was all Jerry and his ego from there and we've seen the results.

Once the team Jimmy built began to decline due to free agency, age and poor drafts the Cowboys have never come close to the success they enjoyed during Jerry's first 7 years of ownership. Jerry needs to go back to the formula that worked from the start with a strong head coach and allow them to lead the way. He needs to put his ego aside and until he does nothing will change.

I think the problem with fans is they remember the last images they see during a season and forget who was really hurt at the end of the yr. To say this team isnt physical is insane. This defense was a skeleton of what it was before the injuries. Early in the yr, the offense and Special teams left this defense in a hole often. Then injuries started happening on defense on a weekly basis. It was just a crazy yr, atleast i havent seen one like this before.

Here is a list of people who were missing from the team going into the 4th quarter vs the Commanders last sunday. Think about it and ask yourself what was this team even doing in contention for the nfc east crown with 3 mins left in the 4th quarter.

ok didnt really want to adress this because i was waiting on you to explain MANY other points i made but to me what i mean by flashy is us always thinking were smarter than everyone else when were drafting , signing , or trading for players .
Examples
Felix Jones - do i really need to tell you all the players we could have picked besides him .
Roy williams wr - ugh smh
Galloway-another smh
Dez- yes dez is a good player HOWEVER at the time we had glaring holes on defense . how can every team besides us find wrs in the lower rounds besides us !
how many times are we sitting there in the draft knowing theres great players on the board and we select some what would be some undrafted hopeful .
