Alexander said:Coach Parcells is the best thing to happen to this franchise since we drafted Emmitt Smith, but there is nothing, and I mean, nothing, that suggests any of what you say is remotely true. Coach Parcells is human and the signings of the past while they may not have been supported, he had ample opportunity and clout to veto them any time he wanted. Just as he had the power to stop the Owens acquisition if he was not in compliance.
Jerry Jones is used to being the punching bag and he is very good at it, so please continue if that makes you sleep better at night. But as far as him "meddling", if so, Coach Parcells would leave. That's just the simple truth.
I was about to say, if these meddlesome episodes were that bad for Bill Parcells, I seriously doubt he would have been the Cowboy coach right now. Bill knew well of Jerry's history before he came here. I seriously doubt he would have agreed to a new deal last January if all this were that awful. And make no mistake about it, this club knew it would be pursuing Terrell Owens before that.
I am by no means a T.O. fanatic. Like many of you, he grates on my nerves at times. But until a real problem arises - one that adversely affects this club @Jacksonville and beyond, then I am perfectly willing to go along.
Personally, I can see this season going off relatively smooth as far as Owens is concerned - at least I hope so. But I am not naive enough to think there won't be a flare up or two. The good news being, I feel this club is prepared to handle it, whereas the Eagles and Niners fell short.
That would be because Jerry and Bill seem to be on the same page. Working together. At least, that's how I see it.
