We'd rather have two offensive linemen running pass patterns than throw it to our $100M receiver.

How long before this turns into an anti Dak thread where he can't even see a 300 LB linemen wide open? Instead he goes to Pollard, lol?

I'm assuming this was designed to try to get Pollard in open space with McGovern blocking. I don't recall this play but it was probably one of Tony's 2 catches that game that went for either 10 or 2 yards. I rather Pollard run that in the middle of the field. More space for Pollard to make a move and you don't render Steele useless. Instead there's probably a safety not far past that 50 and little room to make a move near the sideline.

Dak sux!

Using a OL as a FB literally worked like one or two times all season.

KM thought he cracked a code and overused it.

I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!! EXACTLY overused it to the max, no change no deviation, just make it easy for the opposing defensive coaches, this team is a joke, nobody gets on Kellen for doing these same plays. Was fun when we first saw it but damn ALL THE TIME???

He stupid, because he thinks CRAZY is creative. Just use Pollard like the Chiefs use Hill and stop calling crazy plays. Ugh.

I swear, we got rid of one Garrett and inherited two more. Fat Garrett and Yung Garrett.

He would always save his craziest plays when we got inside the 20. It was unbelievable but you always knew it was coming.

2 weeks earlier Moore was a genius when steel caught a touchdown pass, maybe this picture is more about why Dak didn't give the big man another opportunity to make a play
I remember at times this past season much of the board wanted to fire MM and make Moore HC so no team would steal him away lol
That’s fans for you
Bipolar

Kellen Moore, like the Jones', is not qualified to hold the position he does.

The difference is, he might be one day, but he has to get out of this environment and go somewhere whre there is accountability and development.

Should have used it more, with Pollard as the RB.

I've been wanting them to teach olinemen to run short routes for years. Easier to teach an olineman to run 5 yards downfield, turn around, and put up his hands, than teach a TE how to block. See Rico for details.

We had great depth on the oline. Should have used it more. McGovern and Steele were marginal starting quality. Make teams try to match up their dline depth against 7 starting quality olinemen. Teams count on a rotation to keep their dline competitive against bigger and stronger olinemen. If they're all forced on the field and can't rotate, they'd run out of gas quickly.

Meanwhile, we've got Lamb and CD each out on an island with a full half field to work with. If teams don't double them, it will be a lot of easy pitch and catch. If teams do double them, we run them over up the middle. Simple reads for Dak, whether run/pass, or to throw to the open player. Simple "beat your guy" assignments for two quality #1 WRs.

With Pollard running the ball, and dbs forced to the edges, if he gets a seam, he's gone. And we *should* have been using Pollard as a pick your poison matchup problem too, whether or not we're going Jumbo. Match him up with a LB, send him deep. With a DB, run.

Full jumbo with 7 linemen, CD, Lamb, and Pollard would have been matchup problems across the board for a defense. Having McGovern and Steele uncovered for 5 yard catch and rumbles is the cherry on top.

I'm going to give Moore the benefit of doubt and guess this was an all-or-nothing shot play downfield, using heavy play-action. But I honestly don't remember much from that game....

Crazy is only effective if it's unexpected. If you use the o-linemen like this all the time, sure it looks different than other teams. But it becomes just as predictable as any other scheme when you use it so often.
