Yeah I'll try. Your example doesn't include Dak and his anemic 4th round salary. Try again once he breaks the bank. With Dak at #1, the top 5 of Dallas will dwarf the Pats.
Cowboys top 5 cap hits in 2016 ~ 57MM (Romo at ~ 21MM)

Want to try again?

Last I checked this is the 2019 season. Lol. Wait till Dak get $40 MM. Then factor the other 4. Yeah, try again.
Dak's 1st year Cap hit unlikely to be greater than the 21MM Romo had in 2016.

In either case when your QB is cheap you should load up elsewhere.

The fact of the matter is...the Cowboys aren't managing their cap appreciably different than the Patriots now or when they had a big QB number.

Just take the L.

I guess we all should have seen this coming from a mile away. It’s a trend that started a couple of years ago and is probably only going to get worse. Today’s NFL “Star” is no longer about “The Team” it’s all about “ME”.....Me Getting Paid, Me being the highest paid at me position, My Brand, my endorsements.

it probably started long before these self centered players but let’s just look at the last couple of years “Stars” and it’s pretty clear how we have gotten to this point.

Levon Bell- at the time one of the best at his position. Held out and made his personal demands to be traded. Now is pretty much getting paid for minimal production and has become irrelevant.

Antonio Brown- Demanded out of Pittsburg, Demanded out of Oakland, passed millions away because he was bigger than the team.

Zeke Elliott- held out with TWO Years remaining on his contract. Demanded to get paid. Demanded to be the highest paid RB. Made sure to pass on his wisdom to Dalvin Cook to”Get that money!”

Jaylon Ramsey- Pretended to be injured and demanded to be traded.

Demarcus Lawrence- refused to get the surgery HE needed for HIS body unless he was paid. He also wanted to be paid the highest at his position.

Off the top of my head these are just a few of today’s “STARS” molding and shaping the NFL future. No longer is the focus on the team, and the goal being a Super Bowl. The Modern day NFL STAR is all about me, my brand and making millions. Let’s be honest, these are young men in their early 20’s demanding tens of millions of dollars PER YEAR to play football. How many LIFETIMES would it take us average Americans to make ten millions of dollars?? Yet you have guys like DAK rumored to be Demanding 40 Million per year. Yea that’s right..,per year!

Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of NFL players who still believe in the NFL of old but those are usually not the ones making millions. It’s Star players who have made this more about business and ME making that money, then it is about team or superbowls.

And unless teams start refusing to sign guys the Antonio Browns when they become available nothing will ever change. Sad...but that’s today’s NFL STAR has become.
Good argument there...
