I don't know if the draft will break down this way, but I do expect some serious meltdown if it does:
Round 1, pick 27 - Taylor Mays, S/ILB, USC
Board meltdown ensues. After a night and day of festering, most of the board decides that the Dallas brass knows the talent better than they do and they are still envisioning some wheeling and dealing on day two. They are not disappointed (with the wheeling and dealing part)....
Round 2, pick 59 - Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland
Board meltdown ensues. After a night and day of festering, most of the board decides that the Dallas brass knows the talent better than they do and they are still envisioning some wheeling and dealing on day three. Perhaps some players move. They are not disappointed....
Round 6, pick 196 - John Conner, FB, Kentucky
Round 7, pick 234 - Michael Greco, S, Central Florida
Board meltdown ensues. After a night and day of festering, most of the board decides that the Dallas brass knows the talent better than they do and they are still envisioning some wheeling and dealing to get Atogwe or another player. They are disappointed.
Cowboys would get Jared Gaither and the Ravens 5th round pick
Ravens would get Marcus Spears and the Cowboys 4th round pick
The Ravens need some depth there because Trevor Price turns 35 this season and there is no viable replacement for him on the roster. Jerry and crew veto it due to their confidence in Doug Free.
Board meltdown ensues.
Round 1, pick 27 - Taylor Mays, S/ILB, USC
Only three players end up falling to Dallas that have a first round grade, but Demaryius Thomas and Jermaine Gresham are not in areas of need like Mays. Dallas might look at Aluala in this scenario, but New England knows this as well and they really want this kid. The Patriots package some of their extra picks in a trade up with Arizona to nab Aluala at pick 26. Mays is a physical specimen with some flaws, but the Dallas front office feels that Campo can help him reach his potential and he will prove to be a force on Special teams. He battles Ball in camp for Starting Free Safety.

Round 2, pick 59 - Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland
Green Bay knows that the Broncos, Cowboys and Browns have all shown interest in McCluster and he will not last until their next pick. The Packers nab the "do everything" back as a compliment to Ryan Grant, an extra target for Aaron Rodgers and a boost to their return game. Bruce Campbell is a physical freak and Dallas has confidence in Hudson Houck to turn him into a real player. He rides the Pine behind Doug Free and Free Reign for the duration of 2010 while he learns the Pro game. Dallas passes on Morgan Burnett and Chris Cook here because they drafted Mays.
****Trade Alert****
Round 3, pick 75 - Jordan Shipley, WR, TexasIntent on not letting their preferred player slip through their grasp for the third straight pick, Jerry and crew package their third and fourth picks to Chicago in order to move up and grab Shipley. This move puts Dallas two spots in front of the Titans, who have shown interest in Shipley and have even brought him in for a visit. With no picks in the first two rounds, Chicago gladly takes the opportunity to move back in order to grab more players. Dallas gets a return man, holder for kicks and slot receiver that will play a key role in 2010.
****Trade Alert****
Round 3, pick 96 - Dorin Dickerson, TE, Pittsburgh Dallas finally trades Marty B to the Bengals in return for the Bengals' third pick and a third or fourth in 2011 depending on performance. Dallas fills Bennett's spot by nabbing the talented player from Pitt. Dickerson ran a 4.40 at the combine and a 43-inch vertical. He brings versatility and can even line up at wide-out. Like Shipley, he will play a key role in 2010 as a player that will line up in multiple positions and confuse Defenses.

Round 5, pick 145 - Brandon Spikes, ILB, FloridaDrafting Jordan Shipley makes Patrick Crayton a luxury that Dallas decides to deal for a pick to the Dolphins along with a fifth or sixth in 2011 depending on performance. The Dolphins need a dependable slot receiver/return man and are familiar with Crayton. In return, Dallas drafts a player that they hope can replace Keith Brooking in a year. Spikes is ridiculously slow for a linebacker and some defensive linemen have a better chance of chasing a player down from behind, but his unquestioned football instincts along with his production at Florida causes Jerry and crew to believe he is worth a pick. He sits behind Brooking this season to learn the ropes.
Round 6, pick 196 - John Conner, FB, Kentucky
This pick is mandatory in order to post a mock draft in the Zone.
Round 7, pick 234 - Michael Greco, S, Central Florida
Project pick. This 6’3” 217 pound former quarterback turned Safety posted unbelievable numbers at his Pro Day; 41.5 inch vertical jump, sub 4.40 40 yard dash and 22 reps at 225lbs. Immediate contributor to special teams.
Patrick Watkins stops practicing his specialized break-neck tackling technique long enough to pack his bags.
