I'm not paying any attention to what nfl.com says, they just confuse me until they get it updated.

By my calculations, if we win tonight, here is the current draft order:
1 Hou
2 NO
3 Ten
4 NYJ
5 GB
6 SF
7 Oak
8 Stl
9 Buf
10 Ari
11 Det
12 Cle
13 Bal
14 Phi
15 Atl
16 Mia
17 Min
18 SD
19 KC
20 Dal
21-31 TBD depending on playoffs

If we lose, here is the order:
1 Hou
2 NO
3 Ten
4 NYJ
5 GB
6 Oak(tie w/ SF-coin flip)
7 SF(tie w/ Oak-coin flip)
8 Buf
9 Det
10 Ari
11 Stl
12 Cle
13 Bal
14 Phi
15 Atl
16 Mia
17 Min
18 Dal
19 SD
20 KC
21-31 TBD depending on playoffs

HMMMMMMMM, got a question on that, Miami won today right? their 9-7 now too, if we lose, wont we be tied with them? Also, Minnesotta won, their 9-7, San Diego is 9-7, I know we beat San Diego, so they may pick ahead of us, but i remember last year too, a team that beat us last year, and tied us in draft, they picked ahead of us, so couldnt we go all the way down to the 16th pick possibly? Granted that is just 2 spots above where you had us picking with the 18th pick, but I have found in the NFL Draft, any team that picks with the 17th pick or above has shots at players that teams regret on passing, examples are Emmitt Smith 17th pick, Javon Kearse 15th or 17pick, cant remember, the Chiefs traded up one time from 20th something slot to about 17th pick, giving up their number 1, 2 & 3 for TE Gonzalez, and dont forget DT Warren Sapp, you can get good players at the 17th slot, or so, was just wondering, thanks joe

Joe, first it's ranked according to win-loss records. Once those are sorted, each team with the same record is compared with one another according to their strength of schedule. The team with the weakest strength of schedule picks ahead of those with tougher schedule. The logic is that they had the same record, but played weaker foes, thus "meaning" they were "worse" than someone who played a tougher schedule. Although we will have the same record as KC if we win, they pick ahead of us due to an opponent's strength of schedule of .508 vs our .520(we played the tougher schedule). If we lose, we will be 9-7 just like Miami, Minnesota, and San Diego, but we will pick 3rd out of that group of four teams(making us pick 18th). Here are the opp str of schedules for those teams: Miami(.457), Minn(.484), and SD(.559).

Teams who make the playoffs can pick no higher than the 21st pick. When they fall out of the playoffs, they are compared with other teams who lost in the playoffs in the same round, first by overall record then by strength of schedule. Hope this helps.
