Really. This staff went right back to what made them lose all year. Passing way to much when your not losing by much. Of course they were stacking the box. Elliot can still run between the tackles for 3 or 4. He got what 13 carries for 47 yards. Basically 25 carries would have had him close to 100 yards and that usually has points attached to it.

I had to go to a Christmas party and watched at it and this is what I saw. The same bad playcalling. We turned the ball over on a scoring drive. Daks throws were off. Maybe because his shoulder and finger is banged up. So the staff has him throwing it all day. I saw drops by WR and Witten again.

Looked like the Defense made a effort but was left out to dry. Couldn’t get any turnovers and let them run the ball. How hard is it to stuff the run and cover the TE. That’s all the egirls had and looks like we let them do it.

What else did I miss. I deleted the game when I got home.

Special teams were garbage again as Jones had three punts under 40 yards, none of which put the Eagles inside their 20 - just lousy kicks. At least Forbath was solid.

Defense did its usual deception. Sure only 17 points, but routinely letting Philly get to midfield before kicking, making sure the offense would have to go 85 yards all day.

The Rams and this team mirror each other in that they don't play well from behind. Playbooks get thrown out the window and QBs who aren't built to play from behind start chucking it with predictable results.

So I missed nothing. It looked like a replay of several games.

As hard as it was to push that delete button, watching that game would have been been harder.

You made the wise choice.

I don't know why we are surprised in the difference between the two weeks. We have always been inconsistent these last 10 years.

I can’t remember a ST’s unit this bad. I mean it’s awful. Our field position is terrible. Dead last folks.

Remember Goff hurt his throwing hand and was struggling in that game. Sure we looked a lot better but their offense wasn't humming and we did a good job of stopping the run after getting killed by it the last game. If Goff would have burned us a few times they would have stopped keying on the run but because they were one dimensional we could shut them down. Combine that with a running game that was actually working and the game swung in our favor. Once we were rolling the team believed and gained momentum. The problem is that we don't get that every week. We get a team that beats our D like a drum up and down the field. We get bad punts which result in bad field position for the offense. Then the offense struggles. We don't have all 3 phases of our team clicking almost ever. I bet if Goff hadn't gotten hurt our D would have let him run up and down the field with passes and the offense would have had to start throwing and that game would have looked like the Eagles, Bear, or Bills games.

It is remarkable how most of the losses are virtually the same. A lack of a plan, abandoned running game, dropped passes, horrific special teams, lost hidden yardage all over the place.
Exactly the same losses in the same fashion. You abandon the run. The fumble sucked but at that point in the game our O-Line and Elliot was taking over and getting rolling. You have to go back to it when you get the ball.

Nice summary and reality statement. That coupled with the keep your man in front of you, then tackle defense lets teams march the field on us. Throw in a roll out QB who has an open receiver most of the time, and you make him look all world.

Time for a D side Coach clean out and new scheme going forward. The eagles weren't afraid to play man and stack the line. We dread that scenario, and almost guarantee 4-5 yards on quick passes. Wentz was getting the ball out in 2 seconds. Eli used to eat us alive with that.

Jones was good for years, but has really regressed. Disgusting to see other punters routinely boom it 50 plus and we get 40 at best, and allow returns, when we are stuck with normally a fair catch and as you state bad field position.

14.9 yds per kick return. Yep dead last and we're challenging the 2016 Buccaneers for lowest in history at 14.6.

And that includes starting in worst filed position than just letting the ball go into/through the end zone at least then starting on 25...
