Ratliff has been nothing like he was last year; have not heard about any injuries. So what is the problem? I personally would like to find a big space eater for NT and try him at END. Even if it does not work we still have the space eater to spell him.

I agree a 1000000000000000000000000%. Ratliff's effectiveness, not to mention career is going to be cut short if he has to take on multiple defenders snap after snap, year after year....he is simply too small to be an NT in the 3-4. There seems to be more than a few of those "space eaters" in this draft....go out and find one to split time with Brent who may just be useful and move Rat outside to replace Igor "the Dancing machine".

Yep. I'd rather bring in a real NT and move Ratliff to 3-4 rather than keep Ratliff at NT and draft ANOTHER DE. We've tried out Canty, Spears, Hatcher, Igor, etc. and the only thing we haven't tried yet is getting a 330+ pound NT to fill the middle. Ratliff would see more 1 on 1 and we could move him to either side of the line. NT is not supposed to be a flashy position, we just need someone to do the dirty work inside so Ratliff can be freed up to do the flashy stuff he is capable of.

I think getting a traditional mammoth NT would do wonders for our run defense. Don't get me wrong, I love Rat, but he often does get blown up in double teams. I think his talent is being wasted. He is skilled enough and experienced enough to move around through out the game and each week. Keep OC's constantly worrying about where is he is coming from on each play.

Rat is ideally suited to be a 4-3 DT but I would have to agree, I'd love to see him replace Igor in our 3-4 (assuming we can find a power pig in the draft/FA).

Ware has been better, too. Witten has been just as good, if not better.

And Ratliff has been much, much worse than he was last year. He might be the biggest disappointment this season -- even more than Jenkins.
