The real reason I haven't been around as much

I haven't watched a single NFL or NCAA football game this season. I'm taking a year off from football, and maybe longer. We'll see how I feel at the end of the season. I don't miss it as much as I thought I would. I'm doing this for a number of reasons. I don't have to explain to anyone here how Jerry has mismanaged the team. I've questioned myself whether I would continue to frequent other businesses that are mismanaged. Would I keep going to a pizza place that serves lousy pizza? Would I shop at a store that sells junk that's not worth the money? Would I go on a cruise with a company that treats its customers like crap? The answer to all of these is "no." So why have I kept giving Jerry Jones all these second chances for decades?

But that's not the only thing. In fact, that's the secondary reason. A bigger reason is I haven't achieved some goals that I want to, and those goals take time. I've always wanted to write a novel. I actually wrote half of one years ago, but the story wasn't working, and back then I didn't understand dramatic structure. I have achieved a goal of getting plays I've written performed. One was when I was in college. The other two were when I won two play writing contests for Colorado playwrights back when I lived there. I won in 1997 and again in 1998. Those plays worked and got good reviews, but I've never finished a novel. So, I'm busy working on that. My goal is to write the craziest book that's ever been written, and to do so with a warped sense of humor that people will have fun with. Sitting in front of a TV set watching a mismanaged team takes time away from that. I also have another goal to establish an online business that earns really good money for me. That's easier said than done, but it can be done. I want to move back to Switzerland where my grandparents were from. I've wanted that for years. I have a huge number of relatives there, and I speak the local languages (German, French, and Swiss-German). Don't get me wrong. I love the United States, and my family and friends here, and I'm all for many of the things the country has done such as the Apollo moon missions and the creation of networking technology that made the Internet possible. I can just tell that I'm a better fit for Switzerland. I was happier when I lived there. It's not an easy place to get citizenship, and I won't get it automatically like I would if it were my parents who were from there. Having grandparents from there helps, as does knowing the languages, but it's not a shoe-in.
...
So, I'm ultra busy writing a novel, setting up an online business, and working out how to make it to Switzerland permanently while obeying all their laws. Something had to give, and that would be watching sports. I've been a fan of the Cowboys since 1971, and always will be, but my fandom has to be a lower priority than the other goals I've spoken of. I may watch playoff football and the Super Bowl when it gets here. I've also taken a leave of absence from watching my NCAA team, the Cornhuskers. They mirror the Cowboys in that they were once a great team with multiple championships, but now are mismanaged.
...
So we'll see how I feel when the Super Bowl is over. Also, please don't misinterpret my goal of getting to Switzerland to be about any recent events. I've wanted to emigrate there for decades, long before any current events happened. I might still occasionally come here and post if there's something interesting I want to talk about.

Lol! I hadn't read that much since college...except for @Bobhaze jerry rants and @blueblood70 Rebuttals
don't be dragging me into this..... But the irony with his post on how he left and the reasons he left makes sense to me because that's what I keep telling everybody else is that unhappy with this team they should just delete their account never come back never have a single social media outlet have the word Cowboys in it like Dallas Cowboys because it doesn't seem worth their time they seem like they know it's not gonna change so why bother complaining 24 hours a day seven days a week 365 days a year when we're on a Dallas Cowboys page I'm tired of hearing about the owners I'm tired of hearing about what could be or what should have been I literally like to stay in the year we're playing and just talk about football... But you see the post already they're crying about how they already know free agencies gonna be bad they're already posting stories about next year Mike McCarthy might come back everyone's already preparing to be angry and mad next year why even bother with all this?

At least conehead gets the point it's a time waster for him that no longer seems worth his time so he needed time off I would hope that a lot of people take his advice and do the same thing if this ownership bothers you that much you probably should just delete all your accounts and move on for good The funny thing is as soon as they win another championship all of a sudden these people will come back..

promise some of us who do use talk to text or write longer responses they're not even close to what the definition of a novel is but I understand this day and age and social media somebody would mistake it for that but apparently they can't even read the first 2 pages of a novel before they consider it somehow not worth reading the rest because a real novel has like 50,000 plus words in it it has to have a real story written in novel form so people who misuse that word around here just are just an address not focus enough to read they need stuff only done in GIFs and memes or emoticons and put together four or five of them maybe use crayon draw them a picture maybe they understand better....

Last book I read was a western by Louis L'Amour when I was a senior in HS, 1984....enjoyed it very much. After that, all textbooks and clift notes during my college years. Go Cowboys!
