...will reveal itself this season now that TO is no longer there to cast a shadow over it and divert the media away. That I look forward to in 2009.

So what happens if we win the superbowl next year?

I feel a lot less optimistic about that today than I did yesterday. That said, if we do I will rejoice because that all I want to see is another Lombardi... I'll even settle for a deep playoff run... a win after November 30th... something.

I agree.

Man, that Wade has turned into the Teflon Clown Wade Phillips.

Ya won't have T.O. to kick around anymore and as the days go by and the games pass we shall have to see what Jerra has wrought with the Clown Wade phillips: Little discipline, a HC with no cajones, someone who is just happy to be at Valley Ranch, bringing in his over-the-hill clown buddies from Atlanta and perhaps helping to screw up the draft. What's left of our draft choices, that is.

What I'm getting at, is would you say TO was the problem if we won the superbowl next year?

Obviously it's way out there, but there's always the .01% to think about.

Sure. If we win the Superbowl I will entertain you and say TO was the problem...

We will win a Super Bowl next year only the in dreams of the Clown Wade Phillips.
Oh, yes, we will win many moral victories with our squeakly clean roster, but, unfortunately, the NFL does not count moral victories toward the playoffs.

Who will Ed Werder target now?

I have mixed opinions on this. But it's a done deal and time to move forward.
Not sure I but into all the locker room crap. But I do beleive it affected Romo some. Thinking where is TO, need to get him the ball. Maybe not every play, but on some of them. And that split second of a thought could mean a lot to a successful play or not.

Also, many are thinking, including myself. How do we replace his production and talent. Well, there are 4 WR's plus any FA's or draft picks we pick up. Know that there will be competition for a #2 WR. So they will work hard and learn more and hopefully be better because of it.

RW11 knowing he will be the #1 WR can now concentrate on that as well as having a full off season and traing camp to go through.

Could turn out to be good. Will have to wait and see and hope for the best.

I think the real root of the problem has already been revealed and it is what led to the entire TO mess and thats the clear lack of leadership and accountability. If those two things existed within that lockeroom, they never would have allowed TO to get out of line or they would have at least dealt with it in house.

Until those things exist, all the talent in the world will not matter.

Gotta admit. This back and forth stuff is funny.

For some, cutting Owens is like winning the Super Bowl. For others, its like going 0-16.

Gotta love it.

We can't be relevant anymore in the playoffs, so we replace the ups and downs of being successful with actions our front office takes.

So when the disciplinarian, Bill Parcells was the HC here, we didn't have leadership or accountability? Yet Owens was a distraction even before Philips took over and was a problem in both Philly and San Fran. Both of those teams had success but couldn't get over the hump with Owens on board.

The REAL root of the problem is not in the locker room but in the front office. That lack of leadership and accountability begins and ends with Jerry Jones.

I'm straight man. ;) I'm a Cowboys fan. I've been here long enough. People know that. I'm just trying to be real about where we're headed. There are many many problems that still exist. TO is no longer here to provide refuge for the real issues. I'm conflicted. The Cowboy fan in me wants to be ultra optimistic while the realist in me thinks we just blew any chance of a true playoff run in 2009. These guys aren't getting any younger. Pretty soon we'll be in rebuild mode yet again and hopefully we aren't looking at another 13 years without a sniff at a Lombardi.
